find a producer of similiar styled music 2 what u r doing who DOES know how to mix properly (apparently there are many on here... ), pay them to mix while u sit in on the session and tell them what u want (and they tell u it aint gonna happen cos that just makes a muddy mess or whatever), this way u dont ruin your tracks by making a ballsup of the mix yrself, and meanwhile u will learn by watching/listening to whoever does it for u so that next time u can do it yrself.

yeah, the technical side CAN be a big part of what its about, and is no doubt a help. but i'm totally open 2 the possibility that u r super talented and not interested in the technical side, u just want to express something without becoming a geek. thats cool. and the impression i get is that burial is probably not too far from this: i'm guessing he doesnt know all that much technically, but knows what he likes, and then got sum1 to sort out the big mess for him afterwards.

i learnt to mix by paying a mate to mix my first tunes. cos i was producing using only audio sampled from dirty old vinyl (no nice clean synths), through the speakers of my bedroom stereo, and without any techincal knowledge (or, at that time, any interest in becoming a fucking nerd). they sorted my tunes. and in the process i learnt to make better tunes and mix as i go.

though if u cant b fucked to invest time and energy...u gonna need some hard cash...its your choice
