You could totally print out any image of mine you find on the internet.

I'm not really one for the giclee print movement. If you really really wanted one, sure, why not.

i dont want your handmade paintings, i'll settle for free giclee prints please :) The point im getting at is, i dont really care if your going to steal movies, or eat babies or whatever. the point is, your taking money from someone (believe it or not your taking money from the guy who dressed the set as well as good ol' georgie) and then justifying your actions.

Just because someone can mass produce something they've made, rather effortlessly, because of the medium they choose to express themselves (i.e. film instead of canvas) does not make it any less wrong. Like i said, i dont really care. but im merely pointing out your double standards that seem to be a little biased against people who have become successful. It's not up to you to determine if they should be paid for the work they've done - and i know that directing is fucking hard - so it's not like they sat around doing nothing.

The concept of supporting "independant" artists over, "rich motherfuckers" is bullshit as far as im concerned. ;)

that's exactly it though. it IS up to me if i pay them or not.
these days, everyone has the option to be a satanist and download the film in low quality, or be a mighty media-crusader and pay to see it at the flicks.

i justify being a satanist because i know george lucas is not going to go hungry because i thiefed his film.

matey that built the sets, i'm sure he'd get his money BEFORE the film was released, and he is paid on a salary and works on many hollywood films, and probably has a very nice car.

the people that make films on this scale aren't struggling to pay the bills, they're not going hungry every night. i'd rather donate £8 to charity, or spend it on records, then i can be 100% its going to a good cause. yes, not everyone involved in these films is as rich as george lucas, but at the end of the day, its YOUR choice if you want to be a cgi artist or hold the boom on a film...if you don't like your job, or its pay, you're free to resign!

hollywood is ridiculously rich. don't tell me they need my money...i can't afford to learn to drive, or rent a house, let alone pay to see all the films i'd like to.

If anyone actually wants to make giclee prints of my work, I'd be more than happy. And I wasn't trying to equate anything that I do with these issues, just the opposite. I think the life of an independant, self-employed artist has very little to do with hollywood.

let me know.

going to go see it at the cinema tomorrow. have heard both good and bad. Ironically, I'm a huge lucas (star wars TBH) fan... saw star wars ep III 6 times in the theater, ep II 7 times. Although I'll be the first to admit to a huge library of downloaded movies.

It's okay, cult films generally aren't for everyone. And I am admittedly a bit of a star wars nerd a lot.

Sounds like he speaks the truth.
Its like people who pirate music cause they don't feel bad about it.

To me, films are a time waster, I don't have a inch of passion about them so fuck it, if I wanna see a film i'll download it, standard..I'm the one who'll go without food if I went cinema to see it

RE: Pirating New Indy

I smell a riot!

I will go down to the local DVD house and buy this for 7 rmb this weekend. The profits will go to the chinese government, organized crime and people who go around kicking puppies.

Burn Hollywood burn.
