after that boring album and even more boring martyn remix this guy managed to surprise me completely. embrace is the direction i'd like to see 2562 going. sick tune indeed!

Whoa dude, that's harsh.

TBH, I thought both the album and the martyn rmx were sheer quality. Embrace is also dope, and sounds distinctively 2562 - so I'm puzzled as to why you don't rate his earlier stuff.

Both sides are hot, 3024 on a roll. Can't wait for hte Made Up Sound CD and hte Roberta Flack rmx on Warp.

Good times!

i'm with ruin on 3024-03... one the most overhyped records of the year... it's like everyone read the names on the label then didn't bother listening... so dull. album was too much of a good thing.

i like this one cos it sounds a bit more like his a made up sound 12"s.

2562 mix of Vancouver is deeeeep.. perfect remix of a perfect tune IMO!

look forward to this 12.

martyn, is your album mixed tempo / genre? any dnb, techno or house?

"embrace" sounds bit like an edit/remix from the album track "basin dub"

and i think is the same with "broken" and "suburbia" from martyn!

am i right!?

loads of producers recycle sounds/samples.. not only does it allow them to establish a signature sound, but most don't have a lot of time on their hands to create new kits.. it's also useful when you're feeling creative/in the moment to be able to have a few 'tried & tested' samples to turn to so you don't lose the vibe.. that being said.. other times tracks come together from first or second takes which were initially scrapped but then revived later on, hence similar sounds.. :W:

Supreme tunes, supreme artwork. Will be picking this up imminently...

(Though 3024-003 was lush, personally. The tightness/creepiness of the 2562 rmx was nicely offset by FlyLo's more chaotic, summery style. Each to their own eh.)
