nelly furtado, charmillionaire, cassie, christina, beyonce
all fantastic tracks imhp, produced by some of the best producers in the world right now.
i could listen to the cassie track everyday for the rest of my life and not get bored of it.
but hell, i'm a popist. i do feel jaded by this notion that if something is popular it can't be good. are you people the same people who are getting pissed off with the popularity of dubstep? FFS!
Yeah I am really feeling that Cassie song. I like pretty much everything you have listed here boom. I just have little a trouble with Christina mostly because I don't like her personality very much (pretty trivial actually)- Its cool that premier produced a good part of her new album though.. I love pop music as well. I do understand where the anti top 40 people are coming from but to not like something cuz its popular- is downright unreasonable imo.
yeah i was very surprised when i heard chris martin had produced her new one

that single though, bit indebted to rich harrison imho.
@metalbox - of course i'm somewhat stating the obvious and that there's perhaps little cause to. i wear the 'all music is pop music' strapline on my sleeve.
in balance i should say there is a lot of crap in the charts i can't even begin to understand, let alone like. but to be fair there are a lot of people who do, which is enough justification for the existence of it.
if you start critisising the 'tastes of the masses' then you are entering dangerous territory.
Pussy cat dolls

. Not saying you like them

is the christina tune by premier? that is a fucking massive tune ive been caning it on the daytime tv, its so so good. also absolutely rating promiscuous and sexy back, the twisted funk of timbaland will rule again, i thought he was out of the game but he's rinsing it just as hard. must admit to being slightly disappointed by the new outkast but its growing, i just dont rate big boi's verses, once he leaves it its pretty heavy. i guess my expectations were too high, and it reminds me too much of the whole world. cant wait for the album tho. charmillionaire single is heavy, interested to hear the album
you know what else, the new(ish) madonna tune is absolutely incredible as well. dont like the vocal that much but the track is one of the sickest things ive heard for a while. i know you all hate house tho
all in all, i reckon the charts are doing pretty decent at the moment

We play both kinds of music here - dub and step. You the good ole Brap Brothers?
LOL

another one is the new kelis, that is seductive shizzle, reckon it'll sound big on a system too, does anyone know who produced it?
a tune which is truly awful tho is the paris hilton track, that is one of the poorest things ive ever heard, never in memory have i heard a form of music so horribly bastardised. apparently lil jon made an album track tho, interesting
and i know some of you are into house, just to revise my earlier statement

Kelis "Bossy" - produced by Shondrae "Bangladesh" Crawford for Bangladesh
Production Company.
I like house music. My favs are larry heard, glen underground -especially older stuff, stuff on dance mania records, Dj pierre,Roy Davis Jr, Boo Williams, Tim Harper, theo Parrish, etc.. I could go on and on..
As far as the Paris Hilton thing. it goes to show you can buy yourself
good producers but if your not very talented musically it won't make much of a difference.

yeah, i just want it to en-gulf my whole world.
say, that crack-kid, what kind of accent does s/he have?
i'll bet they have no education. single parent family, even?
probably foolish enough to take advice from their own kind.
quick, send in a distinguished good-old posh south-eastern white man of letters who's met the queen, he'll fix it.
those guys know everything.
on-topic: the pop-chart is an anachronism.
its democratic facade faded and peeled long ago.
it is a venue for shameless oligarchy now, and its exhibits are all adverts for something else. usually money. the root of all beauty.
the whole goth-punk-grunge-alterno thing has now been fully hyphenated and assimilated.
first floor for pale and interesting, unisex eyeliner, black t-shirts and hair-dye.
i wonder if pop will ever make a comeback?
from the one, the many...

...his master's voice.
maybe there should be a new chart which lists only styles/genres instead of individual tunes:
"at #1 this week, for the nth week running, iiit's aar and beeee. and here's an example..."

I'm always number one (although it is a Shonky only chart which helps). To be honest I quite like a lot of RnB but I did find that rather hilarious.
