dunkno wrote:these "i don't like [insert producer's name here], do you?" threads are startin to get borin, but big up the woman, sick producer, sick dj, & kode9 agrees with me, & he's not exactly bad himself either

if you don't like her stuff, don't feel bad, you don't have to, but don't expect many other people in the club to agree with you
did you read my post? I never said I didn't like her music. I was asking others opinions as I am/was not familiar with her work and wanted to know if it was worth checking out deeper.
if you don't care what we think don't ask

here, hold daddy's hand, look both ways..... ok, now it's safe to cross
lol... I DO care what people here think, that's why I asked. I wanted to know if it was worth investing some time in. is that really so hard to comprehend? honestly, it sounds as though you aren't actually reading the posts but just looking for an opportunity to project something. no one else here seems to have a problem with the topic... I mean, how dare I ask peoples opinions on a dubstep producer in the dubstep forum in such an unbiased way

see dunkno, sometimes some of us don't spot the really good, subtle stuff right away and are looking to be lead in helpful directions by those with more listening experience in said stuff.

thanks to everyone else for the replies. I'm actually starting to dig on the millie ep quite a bit after several plays today...

the issue for me ain't whether you like ikonika or not, if you don't like ikonika why should i care, who am i anyway, but i'm just bored of these threads about "should i like x?" or "should i listen to x?" just listen bruv. if you like it, you like it, if you don't, you don't, either way is ok. lead yourself - google.com. it's not like there are a million rare ikonika dubs out there for us to recommend to you

i don't know if you live in the uk but if you went out or listened to the radio often here then you would hear a couple of her tunes gettin battered anyway, so that shows that some people (dubstep djs, dubstep producers) like it

btw this might be of interest to you - http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.p ... sc&start=0 lol seckle

anyway happy new year yeah easy

I'm not in the uk; no dubstep events or radio around here... my only exposure is internet. thanks for the link - I'm new to this forum and just starting to dl sets (have had joker's purple mix on repeat the last 2 days).

happy new years to you as well and be good

Phonelines is a lush musical mash up. Props to her love for Glassjaw too!

I heard 'Please' for ages before it finally struck a chord with me. This reminds me I ought to pick it up.

Ikonika featured in 'Most exciting newcomers in pop' article in yesterday's Observer:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2009/ja ... 09-la-roux

As far as I know she's the only 'producer' (rather than singer/songwriter etc.) featured, so it's a pretty good look for 'electronic' music and of course the scene in general.

i think shes killin it. need MORE lady producers for sure. and this is one a lot of people dont even realize is a lady!

big up to her!

and the comments about her being hot too. thats cool if shes good looking. but you shouldnt use that as why you like her shit more than you should you know.

im just saying being a girl into this music or ANY music...you dont look at the guys and say "hey that was a nice tune, but hes so hot...i LOVE it!"....its just like added bonus. i notice sometimes the other way around...men commenting on chicks involved w dubstep...it tends to focus more on the physical appearance ...or at least comments are made that way.

were all the same. an ugly person vs an attractive one....its all about the tune itself. but it is nicer to have someone easier on the eyes! so big up! keep your hair and nails clean and pretty  :D
