i think the real question is what's up with all the moaning lately lol.
maybe the recession blues have set in hard for people haha.
be part of the scene and push the areas of the sound you most relate to.
i think you gotta respect others ways and tastes.
you'd only go an start a thread about how everyone looks and likes the same if they weren't at the shows lol.
big up to them, they've discovered new music.

there's nothing better.

sorry to moan but none of the stuff mentioned here is 'real' emo or hardcore. if you were talking about dubstep then loadsa people here would be like - naa thats not fuckin dubstep you plebs/noobs.

real emo had nothing to do with lego hair, black hair, bad hair, any type of hair, balck eyeliner and all taht other fuckin shite. it was just a term used for 'emotional hardcore' in the 80's dc scene (see rites of spring or embrace).

hardcore is a different fish kettle but i can say that everything (99%) thats currently called hardcore is actually not. most of it is just fast metal with less solos and more breakdowns. alot of early hardcore was based around only 3 or 4 chords because the bands didnt know any others and more focussed on the passion and intensity. I would also say that proper hardcore gig although it is violent its very rarely intentional and there is a large focus on making sure others are ok - ie. if someone drops u pick em no matter what the fuck's goin on.

hardcore should involve - good music, dancing, shouting, shopping trolleys and gorillas. as this video helps to illustrate

please dont use terms like that here, it can only lead to monstrosities like beat-down-dubstep

whats funny is that I've been in the NYHC scene for over 10 years now and at dubwar last month I saw a few HXC dudes that I've known from band's and shows. dont recall I saw any "emo" kids there. I'm sure if they do come to a dubstep show, they'd most likely morph into a pair of UFO's and Glow stick's.

anyone else been in a HXC band in this forum?

But in all seriousness, get on with some Send More Paramedics and Zombie Apocalypse. Shits mad.

in answer to the op....
girls of the emo variety tend to emerge due to the + %50 attractiveness generated by the emo attire
emo boys only emerge as emo girls won't get with anyone unless their emo
this has resulted in a vast outnumbering of emo boys to emo girls, thus diminishing their annoyance as they will soon die out due to inbreeding, and other consequences of a reduced gene pool
