it's very important for the people around the world to stop perceiving the others as totally subjugated and hopeless, this could be an excellent moment for a signal!
talking about the power of internet: for sure the media didn't do anything to get them in the streets!

Just been on a messagebord where the majority opinion is "workshy crusty lefty hippie stinky stnuc." Had to leave a reply saying "Yeah what a bunch of workshy stnuc, they should get a job and do some real graft, like posting on messageboards." Bearing in mind that this board is full of people who arent too fond of police, theres been alot of OB sympathisers on there.
Which is just what they want. The men on the street to think of all protesters as stinking hippies (which albeit until recently mostly have been) and never join in, cus then they have to take notice.

It's a shame that the news tonight will probably just be filled with footage of that branch of RBS getting it's windows smashed in, and all the other destructive and pointless stuff that a minority of protesters will be doing.

lol yeah I guess in that respect it'll make a refreshing change. But what I meant was, it's a shame that the overriding perception of the protesters will be that they are rioters.
I don't see any point in their protesting, they protest what's happening now but put forward no feasible alternative. But I think all people's voices should be heard.

There was an update on the BBC site from one of their reporters earlier saying that the most trouble he'd seen was the struggle between the press to get photos of Obama and Brown... apparently the police had to break them up!
