Theres a thread about this in SNH.

Security at festivals seem to be more and more taking real hardline stance on a lot of things.

Mate last year got beaten, a broken arm n thrown out by security for "apparently" assaulting someone back stage which was complete bullshit - he was so fucked up he couldnt even stand up let alone assault someone backstage.

Many of the ppl who do security at these kinds of things are ex military or along these lines who cant get into the police force and still feel the need to exercise their control/power over others and it usually means those that have done nothing to deserve a backlash (i.e. innocents) get hurt.

I myself have never been on the receiving end of this kind of thing, I know plenty of ppl who have tho.

Still .... this should be no reason to put you off festivals, I still keep going!! :D Its just a shame theres less of the crusty vibe nowadays!

I'll defintiely be at this one. Love the Glade festival, everything about it. Apart from the psytrance but the happy factor is high so who cares.

shit, are sure about this..i mean you cant just assualt someone and break their arm and get away with it...even if they were being rowdy. It always seems to just work better if people are relaxed. If they start acting like that just gives more people the excuse to get violent..espcially considering the amount of coked up people.

Does anyone have any experience of this new site? I hear they've done homelands (i think...) there before...

If you know the site... wheres good to camp!?!?!
Exactly what you said, 5th year for me too. Glade rules it, looking forward to seeing what the new site will bring, hopefully the vibe of the Wasing venue wont be lost too much. Lineup is killer once again

Yes.

He wasnt being rowdy. He was an innocent, wrong place, wrong time. We found out about his arm the following day when we went to go find him, someone had very kindly put him up for the night after he'd been thrown off site.

Its sad that:
a) for him: he wont be going to glade again as he's now scared shitless of getting victimised again so we will all be going this year without him;
b) some rhoyd hed prick can go and cast a bad light (in my eyes and in those of my friends) over what are in the vast majority good people doing their jobs (the security).
