is it because it takes minimal effort to produce ?

it hurts our ears ?

or because its been done that much that people are sick of it ?

No need to humour you. You've concisely summed up everything that is wrong with the sound..... :Q:

True.

Reeses are marginally pimped sub basses imo.

All about the hoovers!

reeses are all about the midrange and high range

Reeses are technically just lowpassed detuned saw waves. No fx, mid or high in those.

Some people put lots of distortion on what started out as a Reese. But then they don't really constitute a Reese any longer, more like cack :6:

coki is DEFINITELY not midrange cack. When spongebob came out in 07-- even when chef debut'd it and kept calling it "mental,"-- it was just totally stunning.

We just don't need most of the 4,000 or so soundalike tunes that have come since, especially since coki's got triple 6, road rage, goblin, and whatever that new white label is that's out.

I think he and DZ are the ones who are really, really killin' the peak hour, hi-energy dubstep sound. Skream as well, but in a largely different way. There's very few other tunes that even come close.

So basically-- if it's stunning it's great, and if not... sorry folks. it's cack.

Started working on a song called Midrange Cack when I saw this thread weeks back. It's almost done. Dropping on an Internet(s) near you!

8)

Personally I like...uh, Good Dubstep. lol. Simple City rocks and yes of fucking course it's boring when all the songs in a set sound like it.

Everyone just keep doing YOUR thing you can't help but do, that's what matters as an artist. Listening to your drive.

Erm, actually I think you'll find there's plenty of mids and highs in detuned saw waves. Saw waves are the most harmonically rich of the basic waves (every harmonic is present at decreasing volume as you go up) and adding detuned layers puts even more harmonics inbetween. The reason reeses are so nice is because they cover such a wide frequency band leaving you with lots you can do with filters.

I agree that saw waves have plenty of frequency content across the whole spectrum, however, my first point remains.
