Nothing disgraceful about what he did. It is up to the umpire to decide after all. How often do you see a batsman walking of their own accord nowadays? It's rare, especially in a game as big as this. Plus Clarke did the same thing a few years ago against us.

Then Australia should have allowed Trott to replace him and given back the 150 runs they got through a poor umpiring decision in the first innings."

That's excluding the other 2 poor decisions that went against us. Shit happens.

It's not that he didn't walk, it was the way he just walked to the middle of the wicket and had a chat with Ian Bell like nothing had happened. Disgraceful is a bit harsh but it definitely took some cojones...

fuck it though, swings and roundabouts, there have been plenty that have gone against us, and it serves Australia right for wasting referrals. I remember an absolutely ridiculous one from earlier in the day from a Pattinson delivery that was heading about a mile past leg-stump.

This all day. I hope shit like this wakes captains up from using 'tactical referrals' on ticky-tack chances early in the innings.

Pattinson has a test match 99 right? Siddle handles a bat fairly well and we've all seen what Agar is capable of, the extra runs that your tail can provide could prove very useful.

Should Finn play in the next test?? He's got a good record at lords but he'll have to bowl really well in the nets I reckon, there doesn't seem to be much faith in him atm...

In that second innings he seemed intimidated & unsure.
His team mates didn't appear to know how to help him, including Anderson who usually seems supportive of him.
Maybe the tension paid a subtle toll on the team dynamic & he (again) became the butt of their criticism.

He tends to bowl a bad spell when it really matters and when matches are really close like yesterday if you bowl 2 overs for 12 it seems a lot worse than it actually is.

I'd keep him in for Lords, he's played a lot of cricket there with middlesex. If he doesn't perform after that Bresnan comes in.

starc's got a 99, but his bowlng has been woeful. he'll likely be replaced by jackson bird (whos a gun) next test.

I was kind of hoping to see Rhino Harris get a go. How he can still make the squad I don't know. What happened to Cummings? Still suffering with back injuries???

Looking forward to Thursday, the weather looks like it'll be perfect for batting so we'll probably see 15 wickets fall in the day
