Finally, I was able to register. Hi guys, I'm Zach, aka Radica. I've been doing EDM/dubstep production for the past 6 months. I have a pretty classical musical background, and really enjoy taking a song from writing, to performing, to post production all myself. The only thing I'm new to is posting in this forum. And chewing bubble gum. And I'm all out of bubble gum.

I came by to drop a note about the interview I did with one of the voices from Burial's Rival Dealer EP (see related post, which I intend to get around to shortly). Full disclosure*: I'm pretty vague on dubstep in general. I can name a few names and have a scattered background in some of this (Source Direct, Photek, Shackleford, Skull Disco, the Bug, Techno Animal, Scorn, Sasha Grey**, Robbie Williams, etc.), but these days, as far as dubstep goes, I mainly just really love Burial's music.

Having said that, I realize that there's a whole world of dubstep out there and I'm posting here respectfully with an interest in hearing more of it, while also realizing that what I said up there will probably cause a sizable percentage of you to write me off. Which is only fair; just don't be a dick about it.

I also love chopped and screwed music. I've done a bunch of my own versions and will probably post links to those at some point, too. But I don't want to rush into just posting about myself and my own brilliance here.

What else? I dunno. American, 97% vegan, punk background, music writer, high-school English teacher, dry humor haver. Current favorite label is Italians Do It Better. That ought to do it for now.

Hi!

Thought I would join to try and get more involved in the dubstep production scene. Been producing for about 8 years now. Started off doing trance, chillout and psytrance. I used to hate dubstep but I guess I just never heard the right stuff. Can't get enough of it now! Some of my favourite dubstep artists include Seven Lions (not his new stuff though, don't know what happened!), Virtual Riot, Knife Party, Savant, Au5, Dirtyphonics, Kill the Noise. Hopefully i'll be able to give some helpful feedback and learn a few things myself!

I've only heard the odd snippet of Sasha Grey's awesomely totally not-hype-driven music and it's clearly A) not dubstep and B) um, not my thing. By which I mean, C) when your day job involves taking large objects up your tradesman's entrance and you still shouldn't quit it? You have now made two poor career choices.

Hey guys! Dj Darkdrvgz here! Heard about this forum from a friend, im mostly going to be in here for production tutorials. I currently DJ (ableton + traktor) and Im looking to get into production and make really filthy aggressive dubstep (Rusko/Excision) when I get my monitors and soundcard. Any tips I should know or people I should speak with as far as establishing myself as a producer in here?

Hey guys, randomly created an account here because there was some helpful things on mixing posted here. Plus, there was that Objekt q&a that I found really interesting so I thought why not. I currently play in a couple projects - I'll post music once I reach 50 posts. I've been working with ableton for about 4 years now and only now really starting to realize it's holy potential. In the beginning it was my enemy but now it's a dear friend. Anyway, there's still a lot to learn so that's why I'm here.
