I've been listening to a lot of RJD2 lately and kind of made this loop with that kind of vibe in mind. I might finish this up and turn it on for the TUNA! this week, but it would be cool to hear what you guys think.

Yeah I just got the main idea out. I'm gonna switch up the drums and bass line into another section, and maybe dig for some more kooky samples.

oh cool re suite, do they have some kind of rhodes? samples or an emulation or something. Kind of a bread and butter instrument.

And yeah, FLAP to be turned in on this coming Saturday, at some number I can't be fucked to figure out.

Oh, and with the FLAPS, it is supposed to be kind of hip hop/west coastish, but I keep going like Indie pop with it... I was working today, and in like 15 minutes I was at hip hop, and I was vrrooooommmmm past hip hop, destination indie pop.

What are ya gonna do?

Yeah Ableton's got Electric for keyboards which is like Lounge Lizard Lite. It's got pared down versions of most of AAS' instruments; Lounge Lizard, String Studio, Ultra Analog and Chromaphone. It's cool actually because Corpus is another audio effect that's basically Chromaphone/Collision's resonator section on its own, so you can run stuff through it other than impulses or noises. You can have shit like keys jingling driving a drum head or crackling leaves resonating a plate. Great for generating new textures from existing ones. The resonator is dope for that task too.

Once I get this track done you'll hear a ton of examples of shit like that. I've been taking a 32 bar long texture sample and bouncing it several times through Corpus/Resonator with different settings, then slicing the resulting audio files to Samplers and grouping them in a rack so I can flip between them.

It feels like it's been awhile since I've been on DSF. Work is a bitch, but anyway. I've been trying to write some better basslines lately because I feel like it's one things that really holds back my beats. I's curious as to how some of you guys that are into this "L.A. beat scene" type stuff approach your basslines. Tips?

I remember you saying something about that before. Isn't there some shit on the 404 that adds sub to samples? I'm probably gonna get an electric bass soon. I play a lot of guitar, but never use my skills when it comes to production.

Yeah, listening to your first drop in your sig track, would be so dope to drop a bass in there on that drop. Just a gnarly, lip curling bass line.

You quick posted me: Yeah, subsonic, can generate sines and what not.

Word. Idk what you were listening on, but a sub comes in on the drop of that tune. I just layered it up with a cello, I couldn't really justify using an synth bass on it. I was going for an organic feel I guess.
