If you hate it there so much, why don't you search for other work then? I don't know the economic situation in Scotland, but it isn't like there's no other work than that.Radix_UK wrote:I learned that i'm the lowest paid in my place of work (though we all do an almost identical job and a few haven't worked there much longer/are roughly the same age)
Man I hate working -sigh-
Debating it, it's not like I hate it here though, I mean I like the job and the people around me but the pay sucks especially compared to everyone else here.Nihilism wrote:If you hate it there so much, why don't you search for other work then? Do you do anything in the role that you feel entitles you to an increase?
Check your original job description in your contract against any additional tasks/responsibilities that you have now that aren't covered. Highlight those to your manager, with regards to the overall quality of your work and your time spent with the company as grounds for additional remuneration.Radix_UK wrote:wub wrote:Why are they getting paid more than you?Radix_UK wrote:Debating it, it's not like I hate it here though, I mean I like the job and the people around me but the pay sucks especially compared to everyone else here.Nihilism wrote:If you hate it there so much, why don't you search for other work then? Not exactly sure to be honest, it's not like they do any more than me or anything specialist.
Well since the women was originally hired to help out left I'm the only person there who manages the side of the site that adds new products and other things like that and theres quite a lot to get through with the new season stock (on top of daily jobs)
I'm going to talk to one of the bosses and see anyway, if not i may just deal with it and find a new job.

And don't mention anyone else's salary in relation to your own.
Conversely, I found that the best leverage when I got what turned out to be an almost 30% pay rise a couple of years back.wub wrote:And don't mention anyone else's salary in relation to your own.
Fair enough, salary culture varies from company to company so play it by eargarethom wrote:Conversely, I found that the best leverage when I got what turned out to be an almost 30% pay rise a couple of years back.wub wrote:And don't mention anyone else's salary in relation to your own.
