I'd like a tune out on vinyl just to say i did it.

tru dat, something coming out on digi only doesn't feel like an event,

but i'd never wanna put stuff out vinyl only, just longs everyone out

vinyl + free digi should be standard these days

I can't do that being this broke. Also I don't have my own "sound" if u get me. I make hip hop one day then techno the next and then weird broken beauty dub step garage thing then a 160 tune etc etc. One day I'll make two songs that are roughly close enough that I can release them together or justify white labels

throw it all into one. boom. noise artist.

but who was quality control?

thats the main issue with digital music, so much of it is utter garbage because the producer has nothing invested in it other than time.

the above is a generalisation a little too sweeping for this late in the week

obviously not all digital music is shit

but there is a lot of dross

the cost of vinyl does apply a certain level of quality control

compared to the unmastered rubbish that is on bandcamp (for example)

not dealing in absolutes here


being on bandcamp doesnt mean shit

and being released in physical format doesnt mean good



but there is less crossover

Plenty of shit music has been mastered really well & put on vinyl

If youre paying a mastering engineer he's still gonna do it even if the tune is guff no?

Just bc some jabroni has enough $ to do a vinyl release doesnt mean its any better than if theyd put it out on bandcamp
