Guessing you're not a fan of alex coulton either then?

they're not tunes i'd sit and listen to from start to finish, but i guess that describes most of the genre...

I'm not the biggest fan of Hodge but really like some of Alex Coultons tunes such as War Games and Bleep Sequence.

when Hodge opened his set in Zurich with Amor Fati, the reaction of the punters was unreal. hands in the air and euphoric screams everywhere. strobes kicking in - Guyus put up a video on youtube, just look for "Hodge Zurich". that drop kills everything. and it's safe to assume 80% of the people in the dance never even heard of Hodge (or the tune, for that matter) before. I think it's a really, really good track that manages to appeal to a lot of different crowds without being "bait".

I have mixed feelings about Bleep Sequence. could've done with less breakdowns and pitching it down even 1-2% drains a lot of its energy. pitch it up a notch and it goes off though.

bleep sequence is one of my favourite tunes from 130 people, no disrespect to anyone involved in the scene but personally a lot of the stuff just doesnt do it for me at all it just bores me. I prefer more hyperactive stuff like murlo etc, I just dont think a lot of 130 stuff is danceable, like the rhythm and groove just isnt there for me.

Got a couple of Alex Coulton releases. There's this one with a Szare tune on the other side (think Szare is his brother).

Not unlike some Hodge tunes, but it's pretty old now, bit more straight techno.

And also got this one, which is :P:

But not been too bothered by his more recent stuff.

Ah right, can't remember where I read that then, will have a look.

Edit: Found it quicker than I thought, yeah, they are brothers.
How did you team up with Alex Coulton for the first Syndrome Z release? Is he your brother, Jack?

JC: Yeah. Alex is my brother.

Prototype Fear is THE Hodge tune imo, that fat droning bassline is just nasty
