reading some dark stuff about american mutilation of japanese war dead on wikipidia and found this in the citations

one of the most disturbing things i have ever watched, us army footage of chekoslovakia just after liberation, dead and dying ss soldiers on film, and a woman who'd been sleeping with ss soldiers who's been beaten walking down the road, and at the very end you can just see a tank going past with a skeleton on it

you hear so much about war being bad, and there's so many films that show a 'realer' side than old style war films but to actually see this footage is really sobering

it's pretty fucked hence spoiler, apologies mods if this isn't bless to post but it's from steven spielbergs own archive and i thought someone might find it interesting

not in the second world war no, people were conscripted, and even if you're not in the army if you live in chekoslovakia in the middle of fighting you're going to be involved whether you like it or not

Remember back in the day when youtube wasn't so tailored to keep spitting out videos based on your previous viewing/likes?

You used to go on proper adventures like, end up in some really strange corner where youd get on a long chain of really weird, great shit with almost no views. There also used to be fuckloads of Korean (I think?) porn-ish drama films on there, in 10 minute chunks

i used to go on little wikipedia journeys like that, just keep clicking links and links until you end up at a completely different place from where you started. never did that with youtube really
