Well not only is there that idea about significance, there's also the issue I have that Christians claim that god is perfect and the greatest and all that which makes the idea of him sending people to hell for not believing in him seem weird to me as that would be kind of appear to be the behaviour of an insecure and egostistical human but what do I know...herbs wrote:We pale in significance in the grand scheme of the universe, that I find it hard to believe any 'creator' would be troubled with a single souls sins.
I wish people would do things for the good of compassion instead of doing it because a mythological book tells them to.
"Love thy neighbour" - why do we need to be told to do this? The implication that we need to be told this undermines the aims entirely.
Or does it?
I've no idea what is going on, on the artwork of Kyle Halls Hyperdub 12".
i could eat pears all day.
I wouldn't worry too much, I think he's probably assumed an awful lot there - babies can be shown to recognise morality before they can even talk, let alone understand a Bible story.wolf89 wrote:Anyway the worrying thing about it is people do seem to get their morals from all this. My mate Doug is a real hardcore Christian and says that if God didn't exist he'd probably be a total Nihilist with no idea of morality whatsoever as there'd be no point to it. Which makes me concerned
That was gonna be my next point. The whole basis of most religions are built around teaching things that I feel 99% of people already understand.magma wrote:I wouldn't worry too much, I think he's probably assumed an awful lot there - babies can be shown to recognise morality before they can even talk, let alone understand a Bible story.wolf89 wrote:Anyway the worrying thing about it is people do seem to get their morals from all this. Because God pre-programmed it into us, obviously.

Might have to make a sneaky trip to the Newsagents.
Our vending machine only has regular or diet Coke... once you've got Cherry on your brain, it simply won't do. Anyway, boss didn't notice me disappear and come back with a beverage unavailable on our floor... I'm SO hardcore.PinUp wrote:I went and got a Dr Pepper earlier because of that, not quite the same but it's all Sainsburys hadmagma wrote:I read this when you posted it and have pretty much thought about Cherry Coke all day since.particle-jim wrote:Bottle of cherry coke

It's like a almost three quarters a pint of lager (but you persuade them to charge you for a half). A shot of amaretto and then topped up with coke. It tastes like dr pepper if you get the balance right and gets you pissed real fast compared to normal lager. It's all about how well you can blag it cheap with the lager and coke prices otherwise it aint worth it. Not something I drink normally but something I managed to use as a way of getting on it pretty quickly at a local pub once.PinUp wrote:is that some sort of Amaretto and coke malarky?wolf89 wrote:That's tempting me to have a "Dr Pepper" if I go out on the piss tonight.PinUp wrote:I went and got a Dr Pepper earlier because of that, not quite the same but it's all Sainsburys hadmagma wrote:I read this when you posted it and have pretty much thought about Cherry Coke all day since.particle-jim wrote:Bottle of cherry coke

You want to watch footage of dennis lillee and jeff thompson hitting people in the head with cricket balls in 1975 before anyone realised it would be a good idea to wear a helmet.kidshuffle wrote:http://www.nesn.com/2012/05/will-rhymes ... pitch.html
