Yeah oh well, it got answered in order not to confuse people. It's not Kung Fu, it's Muay Boran.
The fact that you think there's a distinction just makes this even better.

Best movie/documentary of all time = The Union. Shit i've watched it a good 1000 times! Either that or Michael Moore's 'Capitalism: A Love Story". If you live in the States and you haven't seen that, i strongly suggest you get on that. There's alot more evil going on behind the plastic smiles of our politicians then you may think. I'm sayin' we need a revolution over here!!!

It's like the new Karate Kid film should have been called Kung Fu Kid, not Karate Kid, the style is the film is Chinese not Japanese :a:
Come the fuck on, have any of you ever trained? I feel like I'm shouting at children on a playground right now.
no no your totally right, Jackie Chan doesn't know what he's talking bout
No, in going to China, it had to be kung fu. And we just had to figure out how to make people understand that we know China is kung fu and karate is Japan. And we decided to keep the title because when you see the movie, you'll understand that it is a stigma. They are teasing him by calling him the karate kid. That's why it made total sense to us. In the movie, also the mom who doesn't really know the difference, she says, 'didn't you like that karate class?' And he goes, 'it's not karate mom.' So we all know it's kung fu. For me the big difference physically, was that in karate, there is a lot of the mechanical, this and that and you can just rehearse things over an over again. Kung fu is a lot more of a ballet. So when we came up with the jacket on, jacket off thing, there are like twelve moves buried in one single swooping move. And that's what I loved about the whole idea, that you can learn one thing and what you discover is that you've actually learned twelve different kung fu moves within that one little thing.
apology accepted

Thank you for clarifying that you have, in fact, never stepped foot in a ring or gym.
 Get off your high horse borrowed and why not explain yourself if you think your understanding of the meaning of kung fu is better than everybody elses.

Kung Fu is the collective term for Chinese martial arts.

Muay Boran is the collective term for Thai martial arts.

No, it's not Muay Thai. I know he does Muay Thai but the form he does in that clip is from something else... I'll get back to you.
he does Muay Boran aswell which is like the older, original muay thai, thats what a lot of the Warrior King is based on

but i reckon if you claimed that Ong Bak was a kung fu film to a Thai they'd teep your face off, they're super patriotic are the thai's!

Fast Five: C- less about cars more about the characters... which have been terrible the entire series

Scream 4: C ehh its a scream movie no better or worse than the others

Lincoln Lawyer: B- Some fairly random points in the movie that were distracting but a nice courtroom/lawyer type drama

Hall Pass: B+ was skeptical of this movie but honestly it had some funny parts. Decent date rental
