i really love rap music and the whole gangbanging / killing people aspect in lyrics i've never actually thought about i really just dismissed it as antics and fooling around. something that maybe happened in the 90's or some shit... but as i watched a bit of the noisey's chiraq -series on youtube i started thinking that man that's pretty dark i'm not sure i wanna support that stuff... can't really listen to chief keef anymore without thinking about the whole ppl shooting n ting

I grew up in one of the most dangerous cities in the United States.

The reality of what rappers talk about is pretty fucking grim when its right outside your door.

Gunshots every night, muggings, drive bys. Had bullets imbedded in the front of our house.

Not a great way to live.

for me, i found it increasingly difficult to put aside the mysoginy, with the violence its much easier to just say ah fuck it they're telling it as it is, sometimes to cartoonish extent (i was more about 90s G rap) i just couldn't find an angle to excuse the bars about 'a bitch is a bitch'

i COULDNT be hungover today but i still got drunk last night and it worked
