Got my manager's job on the next release of a project, as he's got his manager's job. Hopefully a good opportunity as he earns literally twice what I earn for doing it.

Yeah, that's my plan, I've basically been doing it my whole career at this place, and the big management bods know who I am (kicked up a fuss over a 0% payrise one year which backfired on them massively), so should be a good thing.

There are performance reviews every quarter with promotions mid-year and january but it's a miracle if anyone is promoted mid-year, so annoyingly, it'd be january before anything happens haha.
