tried and kinda failed to write a 2step style beat again but there is a vague xmas association to this tune so fuk it

that's sick, stumbly beat is real cool, the bit with the buzzing noise did kinda murk my ears on headphones

Taken me a while but I finally made some dubstep

that is a really classy tune man, the rising flutes, and that drum beats skipping round my head, shades of loefah on the second drop

how acceptable is it to see loads of clipping on the meters on effects on an audio channel? that was the case here but the channel itself was far from clipping, was intentionally looking for overly distorted effect

it might work better if its more a sub than a midbass, that way it'd come out as this mad groovebanger

u could start lfo'ing as well yeh, make it wobble like

cheers, layered the sub under that so just take the mid off i guess (and maybe open the filter on the sub so it's more prominent)

stopped using lfo as much, found it was taking some of the punch out of the sub (kept getting loads of varying volume off it) will give it a go

you could do the LFOing on a separate chain, leaving the main sub volume intact

if ur gonna lfo ur sub just lfo its gain. u will get ur sub levels going crazy because they are. honestly dont worry too much about all that unless it doesn't sound right

i mean it was more like when looping, once it'd sound great, the other time completely inaudible, something that needed resampling probably, haven't had that issue here, how'd you mean lfo the gain? i'm using the basic ableton plugins, so usually use the lfo on the auto filter, but haven't found the effect that prominent in this track

Nah, if you ctrl + A to select all the stuff on your sub chain, then press ctrl + G, then go to the left, you'll see a little circle with 3 lines in it. Click that. Then highlight the chain and ctrl + D, giving you two chains. You can then split the sound into sub and higher stuff using some clever filtering, then LFO the ish out of the higher chain, with sub left untouched.

Yea man u might just have to automate the gain of u can't LFO it in what ever synth, although its a pretty basic function so u should be able to. If ur sub is just a sub splitting it will do fuck all probs but u can always try:)
