Can't help but agree that as a genre the lines between the good stuff and the more artificial stuff we're seeing on things like UKF and chemical records are blurred. There is definitely a place for the kinda thing UKF and chemical put out, but I'm not quite sure if it's the same as dubstep.
Music does evolve though, so this could just be the next phase of the genre.

Why does it matter what Dubstep is? Whatever it is... it's completely different to whatever it was at the start. Just like all scenes that catch on, it's evolved. Equally, just like all good genres, the pigeonholing & genre-naming has produced some horrific music & threatened to kill it all together.

All the tracks in here are dubstep. There's an eclectic mix that shows the ways in which it's evolved. I can just go and post some Jeff Mills track in here, because it's not dubstep.

(I absolutely detest the vocal version. In my opinion the original is much better)

For me, it takes away something of the experience of what Asteroids (or rather Asteroids VIP) used to have when I was listening to it. Something personal I guess.

Let's first focus on the big fishes like Skrillex, Excision, Borgore etc. After that we can take down Modestep and such.
