The tune itself is a really average "dungeon sound" Kryptic Minds knockoff, it's not horrendous or anything but it's not that interesting either, if it weren't for the Anti War Dub sample nobody would have really given a shit about it. All the best parts of the tune are in that sample. For me at least if you're remixing a tune you should bring something new to the table, or what's the point? Same with Root, Dem A Talk (obviously that one's not a DMZ refix but the same point stands, the Mavado vocal is the only reason to listen to it, TMSV did a much more interesting remix. What's with all the Dem A Talk remixes anyway? Mavado has other tunes...). Obviously this is all just my opinion, I know a lot of people like these tunes... I just can't really see the draw myself. Some of Compa's other tunes are a bit more interesting but it seems with the refixes he just samples well known tunes to elevate a mediocre tune's appeal...
Hadn't checked any of these before, but after listening to this one, I couldn't agree more with what you said.

On the other hand, even though I haven't been feeling his tunes so much so far, Alpha is a killer tune, big quality leap compared to this imho, and with much more personality. If he keeps going in this direction, I'll definitely be checking him more regularly.

depends on how long it would've taken you to figure out the sample isn't by luciano.

he's also pushing it as an ancient memories refix so it would be the same end result regardless of where he got the vocal sample from surely

And my point is it's built upon the same sample anyway.

aaanyway this is circular and pointless

I again must stress I know where the slagging started and it's from a far than reputable source and from him it sadly spread through word of mouth...

Music wise everyone is entitled to their opinion I am now going to do my best to stay out of this thread providing people can act with some decency and not just act like sheep

I fucking love his DMZ refix's. What some people find boring, I find Dark/Deep. It's just horses for courses ennit.

I can see that insomnia remix burning on a system. but I have to agree with DeniedExistence's post, although that Dem A Talk refix gets much love from the crowd... see it as a dj tool.

compa's mix for mixmag just came out...

Soundcloud

quite shocking really...

'It says something that when we had to postpone releasing the mix for a week, Compa remade the recording with fresh dubplates he'd just got cut. '
What is he trying to prove??

yea pretty retarded move to re-do a mix just to include your freshest tunes. what a pussy. should be banned from dubstep imo tbh.

Compa needs to stop misusing the word "humbling".
