@DJRaynes appreciate the feedback

cool song I like the glitchy synth, I think you could make a good dubstep song out of it with the right bass line, nothing too huge or violent haha but kind of a supporting role if you know what I mean? good job
@nnny digging those delayed synth hits, and good job on the percussion it keeps the track interesting. I like the tribal feel

@Cheeky great idea creative sounds. slightly repeating and defiantly needs some filling up to do. the beat/sound of the percussion need no change..
@DreamThief much much better! i love how you can still hear the water running. imho i like it how it is but id have to say that little one note "string" at :55 is to sharp sounding might want to smooth that out.. that clap..

like that good one man
@Randomic the static is a little to loud i really love the piano nice work on that. imho i like the bassline then again i dont.. i feel it fits then again it doesnt..if your going for a more "dark" feel they need a little more gritt to them just a little more. i really like that "wooshy"
@Ascian this is straight up love making music

love the chords good job on this i dont really have nothing to really pick at have to agree with DreamThief on the reverse sub. I wanna say have a few more "moans" in there but not sure if that will be to much.. looking forward to finished version.
Here is my updated version i added a more "woody" snare and added another pad for some extra atmosphere annnddd trid to EQ some things. I had a problem with the sub sounding like it was cliping yet wasnt showing in the mixer.. resolved that by lowering the over all volume.. i will keep giving feedback

kidstrange - love the drums and atmosphere. the main wobble/high bass/whatever is the only part I'm not feeling, but that's just me. Really dope track so far.

Kidstrange: Drums create a SICK atmosphere. That wob though, genuinely the best Ive heard in ages. Really Caspa ish. How did you make it? My only crit is the mixdown. Constructively, its piss poor mate. Crackles, distortions, muddyness. Turn everything down!!! Its ruining a wonderful composition.
Nnny: ALWAYS look forward to new shit from you man. Expecting good things here. Beasty intro, just wish it was longer. High end synths are immensely good. Snare may have a bit too much top end for moi. Panning delay on drums is always a winner. Overall, this track could be far bassier. Composition it's ace, but the sub is nowhere near meaty enough.
DJRayned: Equally, I look forward to stuff from you too. I'd cut some lows from the bass at the start. For the most effective drop, cut some bass from your intro, then lay it on thick when it drops. I love how organic your drums are, sound very live. Must say, that bassline is catchy as fuck! Gameboy advance synth is sick. Just cut some bass from the intro man! Also - your sub is panned in the intro right? So when it drops, for more power delivery have it dead centre. This is why in most music drums and bass are central, so they deliver optimum power. Sweet track though.
3 awesome WIPs there I must say.

i really like the feel of it but i think you should turn up the bass ( not sub bass ) to make so its not hiding behind the rest of the song

thanks man and id have to agree with you, im having some trouble with the mix down. On my set up i dont hear any muddyness, now throw it on my ipod to some headphones yeah getts a little rough.the whole bits not clipping so im working on it ive never had to much of a problem with this sort of thing normally my mixdowns impress more folk than my tune...there is a crackle sound that i have playing throughout the bit to give it that raw feel since im taking on a nature esque feel. wob is just a plain ole squarewave with a few tweaks nothing to insane.
as for your tune i like this western feel to it which seems to just oddly end at :36 should be smoothed out so it flows a bit more. contemplation is on the snare i feel it needs a little reverb or some extra punch. i like the bit at 3:25 imho the beginning half needs some more fullness to it, as of now it sounds slightly empty. just needs a little something not to much just enough. thats all the picking i have on it without a doubt amazing track man.

i like the arp'ing synth you got, but the whole song sounds like its underwater, try to clean up the mix a bit, levels and eq, great sounding song, just needs to sound cleaner audio wise.

kidstrange - on to your tune:
Kick - A little tip is when the second kick comes in quite quickly after the first and they both have a long decay time, use a little fade on the first so that they merge MUCH more smoothly together
Snare - Really like it, can't fault it tbh
Hats - I don't normally like hats that aren't high passed really high but these fit well with the tune
Drop - Really like that the snare sound changes, keeps it more interesting and slightly heavier. The bass sound, geez that is nice. The break down that then goes straight back into the tune is really nice too.
Overall - Great job! Not sure how close to being finished it is but looking forward to hearing something more polished
Ooh.. Just noticed the sub bass, I like it!

@asclan - like the bass, feel there could be more presence to it. sansamp shit or something, distortion on another bus. whatever, you sound like you know what your doing anyway. kicks a bit of a shock when it comes in, ride it in or something. love the glitchy shit, the hat rolls and the stretched snare. i would do more of those, but i guess its a personal preference thing. switch up the bassline, or the chords. after a while it gets a bit stagnant. oh yeah, also, those rattle things, field recording, whatever you wanna call it, they sound good, need a bit of reverb though. composition wise, sounds sick.
@debaser - kick sounds like it needs some eq. sounds a bit flabby if u get what i mean. maybe more compression. the guitar sounds good, the drops a bit unexpected. i know sweeps and shit are the easy way out, but there sort of needs to be a fill or roll or something leading into the sub. i like that middle 8 thing, the way youve cut one of the samples is a bit annoying though. i dunno what it is, maybe the hats? i really like the last section. i think just overall it just needs more incidental stuff. fills and shit, whateverr. well catchy riff though.
@kidstrange - sounds really good. my kind of thing. think the reverb on the kicks needs eqing. sort of sounds alright in the track, but the intro sounds weird to me. really like that wob thing youve got. i think you should vary that reverse cymbal thing. your drum patterns pretty cool and the intro sounds really well thought out, and having the cymbal thing every bar sort of makes it sound a bit lazy, if you know what i mean. like pitch it every other bar, or use another sample. (sub sort of sounds like its distorting still. might be to do with the kicks as well.)

taking it to mix tomorrow morning, so hopefully someone actually bothers to leave feedback. its not often people do (i only give it to people that do)

Krispies - Best idea I've heard in a while. V difficult to listen to though without envelo[pes on your synth sounds it's all very constant, no attacks. Love the idea and the sounds.
kidstrange - One of the best produced tracks on this forum IMO no advice sounding perfect...
samkablaam - Incredible skills, the vocals are enchanting. I especially like the intro if anything I would probabily say that the main vocal section doesn't quite live up to it 4.06 should be the main hook for the track its sublime. Just my own taste though if I heard this I would prob buy it but some parts have too much going on vocally.. Awsome mate!!!

@dream thief: i feel like i heard that exact same synth line somewhere else before, just cant remember where :/ what's up with that voval sample right before the drop? sounds like you were just browsing through your sample library before you were looking for a filler. i'm really unsure of your wip in general, can't really clearly decide on an opinion if you know what i mean. only thing i know for sure is your synth needs some more work. sounds a lil too unrefined, maybe add in some chorus, flanger, get it moving around a bit, maybe automate a second (lopass, hipass, notch, whatever) filter just instead of lowpass -> lfo. it's just too static. other than that i like your drumwork but the intro is missing something. maybe a smalle melody? some incidentals might just do the trick.
@samkablaam: groovy yet mellow, the build-up on your track is really amazing, but i feel like you should boost your drums+sub a little more and go easy on the volume of the vocals. especially sub-bass needs a lil more power (at least on my setup). i don't know if it's supposed to be like this but i wouldn't mind a heavier (i.e. deeper/harder) kickdrum. dunno on the whole the drums seem to be a lil on the light side for me, just my taste though, no arguing with the talent here.
@ascian:definitely some porn grooves going on here. porn-step so to speak

bass is kinda weak on my end (but i also sad that on another WIP might be my setup right now). i feel like the track gets interesting right at the end where the drums kinda build up, but then it just stops :/ the drop is not really much pronounced, that riser could be lil longer/louder just to make it stand out more. lovely idea with that timestretched snare. i'll have to agree with samkablaam tho that the chords become really really stagnant (especially after listening 2-3 times). i would recommend a nice chord progression

@s3f
Pretty chill man, but I'd like to hear an awesome drop there. There's not much build-up, and I'm a guy that likes build-up

. All in all its good, but the bass melody could be a little more interesting. Use some different waveforms and try adding a little variation to it.
PS: That is a unique looking waveform btw lol...
@Quasi118
Interesting, but this is a dubstep forum
Kinda of repetitive during the build-up, but thats part of techno I guess...
Once again my WiP. What can I do to make this bass sound more interesting (I like the melody, I'll later add a little variation and make it more interesting, but I have a base)?
