problem being helium is inert. The explosion would be nothing more than compression displacement. No explosion.
It's still exploding though isn't it? It may not be the technical definition of exploding, but it's still exploding using the common parlance of "exploding" = "bursting apart with great vigour"! It's a better description than "people being evacuated over fears of massive compressive displacement leading to the rupture of said cannisters with the potential to propel shrapnel in a dangerous fashion in many directions".
