Found an old copy of Cool Edit Pro (v2.0  ) to download so can try the full on FourTet thing with the SP-303.

I'm almost to the chapter on Z-transforms in this DSP book. As soon as I'm able, I'm gonna make a Z-plane filter and steal all EMU's customers.

Or maybe just use it in my own productions and glare derisively at people who use all presets to make their tracks.

Started making an ambient track. Might make a 3 track EP with different versions of it.

I'm on the neural network chapter now. Had to stop halfway through and marvel at how meta it was, teaching my own biological neural network about teaching computer-based neural networks. It's like my brain was looking at itself in the mirror.

I also got to skip three chapters on image processing techniques since the book is about general DSP and not just limited to audio, so I'm getting close to finishing. Eight chapters left, of which I might be able to skip two more. It's free to read online btw, if anyone's interested. URL is here.

After this I need to become more familiar with C++ and read DAFX for some more specialized audio effects. Then it'll be time to put Waves and NI out of business :D

^nice. Just gotta sell for a lot lower than NI and Waves stuff and endorse the banger factory producers ;-)

Went out with my parents shopping the other day and we stopped by this relatively large Goodwill store which had a lot of vinyl albums for fifty cents each so I bought 20 or so. One of them is from a local St. Louis band from the mid-70s that I can't find anything about on the internet. None of the google searches I've done have returned anything. I feel obligated to sample such an obscure album :)

Also, I've been reading up on maintaining vinyl and I'm pretty sure most of the dj's I've seen do some of these "do nots":

How many of these things do you guys do? I just want to clean these without damaging them... :corncry:

Took field recordings in a waiting room, listening to 2562 and reading "Ubik" by Philip K. Dick. Cranked out the beginnings of an EP. Three songs deep.

I've put some work in the studio today as well. Doing fills, variations and transitions. Getting close to rendering out audio and starting a proper mix. Gotta trim some shit down though, sitting at 9 minutes at the moment without an outro. Been toying with the idea of splitting it up into a 3 part suite though hahah. Then each part would only be about 3 minutes each and I wouldn't feel like such a prick. But knowing me, I'd then make those 3 parts each 9 minutes long and start the process all over again.

So yeah, look out for a triple LP from me in about 4 years. :W:

^I'm working on a tune right now that is clocking in at just shy of 10 minutes. Just fucking go for it man!

Yeah I might do the 3 part thing. It's already kind of broken up into parts and the whole thing is pretty progressive. So I could just split the tracks at the transition points and develop each section a bit more. Could turn into the centerpiece of an EP or something.

So do I, just checked the project creation date... Feb 2012

Mostly comes from coming back from a burn, not listening to the track, and making a new section with the instruments I already have in place. And then trying to transition between them.

i'm trying to do a kind of concept ep where i do a tune based on a professional cyclist.

I've done armstrong and pantani so far so its a bit depressing, i need to find a guy who didn't have an utterly tragic career/life but it's pretty hard :cornlol:
