If you're gonna release a record, give everyone a chance to have it. Is it really gonna "spoil" the tune for you if you hear it once on Friday night and once on Saturday night (assuming you go to music nights twice a week)? you probably listen to it more on your ipod than you hear it "played out" in sets.
The problem is the label doesn't know the exact perfect number, I'm sure they would much rather excess demand instead of being left with a lot of records.

Yeah, most get the demand estimation okay.. Loefah was a rare exception which was clearly done knowing the hype would happen and caused an ego boost for all involved. Don't expect all 300 pressings to be done in the same vein. Not all releases are 10+ year old classic, thought to be lost, dubplates.
I'm sure most labels appreciate digital dominates but want to let their followers know theres only 300 available so don't wait a month or two to cop it cause it MAY sell out.
No way would a normal release sell 300 in 10 minutes, not even system.

no doubt no normal release would sell out in 10 mins, I don't think Midnight even would have done that, but when you go "oh yeah, by the way, there's only 300 *winky face*" on facebook, that's what's gonna happen.
@marcus i definitely agree they'd prefer excess demand over being left with unsold records, but it's pretty clear that Midnight or any System release would sell well over 300.
anyway i saw someone say on fb that they think it will be Epoch - Attraction. seems like a reasonable guess.

Will make my first System appearance this year, stupid that I've not been yet.
Me too, it's my new year resolution.
Everytime I come in here after System to read opinions I'm so jealous
Looking forward to copping that LAS plate as well. Does anyone know when it's going to be up for normal sale?
And I hope Mere Sher gets a repress as well soon since I didn't get a copy.

No word about it but I'm assuming it will be the System birthday party.

^ the shuffling percussion in Tic's breakdown is slightly reminiscent of Badman innit?
Edit: before people go to twitter etc, I asked him directly today cos I was worried it might clash with our night. He could be hiding it, but he told me the date for one 3 months in advance when I last spoke to him direct so..

Yeah i remember (altho i was fully residing in spangladesh at this point so take with pinch of salt) him being quite non-committal at the end of New Years about a Feb Birthday rave, which is unusual seeing as how he normally states on mic when the next session will be on the night
Wait and see tho. Will be handy if it isn't on for me tho as if it fell over the 20th weekend i'd be in L-Pool for a gig
