that guy is explicitly arguing racism isnt really a thing and that its just a reaction to the actions of individuals. in a lot of ways it's like blaming rape on girls wearing short skirts

Pretty sure he says racism sucks and probably will always exist, and further that black people need to take responsibility for their lives, their communities, and their public perception. And that it is the abdication of that responsibility that is a major input into the despicable condition of the black community today. TOTAL UNCLE TOM. Might as well be a white guy. Seriously fuck that guy. He needs some stitches.
Anybody recognize this prick, the guy that started all this shit?

Phigure do you seriously think that Mike Brown getting shot was "racially motivated"
Read the eyewitness testimony
Nearly everyone is reluctant to tell detectives what happened
Nearly everyone says he fought at the car window
Nearly everyone says he was coming towards the officer with his hands down
Everyone fearing retaliation from ppl in apt complex told story similar to Wilsons
Any story on the news or from witness testimony that strayed from wilsons varied wildly from one to another
Wilson says he grabbed his gun at the beginning of the struggle bc he couldnt reach his mace & baton wouldn't have worked in a small space. Obviously he didnt have to use lethal force but as Mike Brown kept coming he kept shooting (which was a mistake)
But was this last volley of shots based on Mike Browns skin color? Or was it based on the events leading up that he was obviously a suspect in a robbery and he fought a police officer and overpowered him
There is a problem in the USA w police & racism & guns
Is this the story to use to be the face of all these issue
Fucking no
imo its actually selfish/ignorant to use the death of a person to become martyr or more accurately a mascot for whatever cause you choose to assign him to
Either way RIP

For people with no self control, protest is a pretty good excuse for rioting and looting

Protest and especially "riot" is about tipping points. No, the Michael Brown shooting isn't the most clean cut example of inappropriate police violence or brutality in America, but yes, it happened at a time and in a place where the next big case would spark action. People have been talking "tinder boxes" when it comes to relationships with authority, especially Black relationships with authority in American cities more and more frequently for the last few years... it's no surprise that it bubbled over when it did. To think that ALL this is a reaction to one incident is selling it a bit short.
The UK riots a few years ago had very little to do with Mark Duggan in reality, but they wouldn't have happened when they did without his killing. The LA riots in 1992 weren't just about Rodney King. It's about a notion latching onto more and more of society until it tips the scale and people realise, perhaps too late, that they urgently need to do something.
