It's a triathlon for HSBC employees, down at Dorney Lake, by Windsor. I'm doing the Olympic distance - 1500m Swim, 40km Cycle (which for a long long time I thought was only 30km), and then a 10km run. Gonna be swimming in open water for the first time too - I've never done 'pack swimming'.
Pack swimming is pretty aggro, i'd hang back a bit and let the super keen people head off first. You'll still probably have to swim over people which is pretty rough, but it's all part of the fun! Open water swimming is fun, it's better than being in a pool because you don't have to stop for the walls and you can find your rhythm easy.kins83 wrote:I'm gonna keep the crazy quoting going on.BLZDub wrote:What triathlon you doing then?kins83 wrote:lol hopefully!BLZDub wrote:Happy finish?kins83 wrote: That's what I keep telling the girl from work

lol I'll try. Cheers for the words of advice, I'll be sure to forget them in a panic as the race startsBLZDub wrote:Pack swimming is pretty aggro, i'd hang back a bit and let the super keen people head off first. You got a wetsuit? Swimming in a wetsuit for the first time is odd too, it's quite restrictive.
So have fun...
Panic is by far the best way to do it.kins83 wrote:lol I'll try.
