imo of course

that whole dub-y semi jungle ting is bland as fuck. Looking at you fracture, rockwell etc

It's still really basic and dry compared to any of the proper Dillinja type tunes that its paying homage to.

that Pritchard-ep just suffers from sub-par execution imho.
Yeah but that is hardly the standard to judge it by.
Critical is paint by numbers, except for a few Rockwell tunes when he put in the effort a few years back.
Fracture (with Neptune) had a few really good dnb tracks but has now had a go at all the new sub genres like juke etc and sounded really bland or unoriginal. Now it's just club music, where they look to machinedrum for cues. Which is odd tbh.

Dont get me wrong Organic had some serious work in their catalogue but that is just another standard from back when dnb on vinyl was a thing and not a commodity. That time has passed.

I know his work and he has made way more progressive stuff than the bits he puts out now. I enjoyed how pop africa hitech was, because that was a risk in a way artistically and it was quite original. But his remixes ft the ragge twins or whatever authentic jungle stamp he tries to put on his work now is a bit weak tbh. Brilliant producer though, just very hit and miss and weirdly 'academic'.

that first footwork-ish tune fracture did was alright, good for a club banger. but the novelty wore off fast

Really! Best tunes I've heard in ages. Really surprised as I bought it on a whim with no preconception.

I actually don't own or recall listening to any zomby tunes btw.

The blocks & escher remix has such a long build up and i feel like it's lacking something. The actress remix is weird as fuck and I don't like it initially but over time I can see it growing on me. The silverlink release by far is my favorite, the VIP is cool but I find it to have a lot of grime influences that really aren't my kind of thing. Overall I enjoyed the remix EP, glad I bought it.

imo they all sound bit forced. think the original s are great but they don't don't rly lend themselves to rrmxing. the actress 1 i wouldlv liked a lot more if hed cut the vocal.

Yeah, this. It is always that tune that's playing when the twelve inch is on the turntable.
