compare the ep to the rest of his catalogue and you will agree.

imo of course
that whole dub-y semi jungle ting is bland as fuck. Looking at you fracture, rockwell etc
they're all bland as fuck but at least critical shit goes offJurkhands wrote:fracture/astrophonica, om unit & his cosmic bridge crew, shoot records, exit et al are delivering serious weight. much better than the pitched-down vocal sample into neurotechy paint-by-numbers drop garbage Critical have been releasing for the last five years or so.

It's still really basic and dry compared to any of the proper Dillinja type tunes that its paying homage to.

Yeah but that is hardly the standard to judge it by.Jurkhands wrote:nah man

that Pritchard-ep just suffers from sub-par execution imho.
I know his work and he has made way more progressive stuff than the bits he puts out now. I enjoyed how pop africa hitech was, because that was a risk in a way artistically and it was quite original. But his remixes ft the ragge twins or whatever authentic jungle stamp he tries to put on his work now is a bit weak tbh. Brilliant producer though, just very hit and miss and weirdly 'academic'.murky21 wrote:loooooooooooooooooooooooooool mans out here accusing Mark Pritchard of sub-par execution and being a fashion victim hahahahahhahaha
Really! Best tunes I've heard in ages. Really surprised as I bought it on a whim with no preconception.back_beat wrote:cult remix ep is wack
The blocks & escher remix has such a long build up and i feel like it's lacking something. The actress remix is weird as fuck and I don't like it initially but over time I can see it growing on me. The silverlink release by far is my favorite, the VIP is cool but I find it to have a lot of grime influences that really aren't my kind of thing. Overall I enjoyed the remix EP, glad I bought it.back_beat wrote:cult remix ep is wack
