Question - if you've only just started, why 8 and not 9?

That's a great goal, mate :)

PC w/ FL8, and growing collection of outboard stuff. Random drum machines, synths, effects etc.

Get on it dude, it's never too late i reckon (I'm fucking well late to the party after meaning to for so long!). I needed to wait to get a lappy too to start, been a pc user all my life and got a mac, seems sick, no regrets. Mac OS seems a lot better / slicker

TBF I've been eying a switch to an AbleMac setup for a while now. So it might be inevitable at some point. Only concern is that it'll hit the reset switch on my learning curve to a certain degree, I can practically program stuff in FL with my eyes closed after a decade of using it

whats wrong with that! sounds good.

Quite keen to not share anything until its good. People (especially younger people, without meaning to stereotype) seem in a massive rush to share things, i want to (unless i turn out to be shit) come out with something sick from the off

I've set myself the EP goal every year for about the last 7 years... always get one or two tunes finished in the first quarter and then entirely run out of steam once the sun comes out. :(

One of these days I'm just going to ZIP up all the false starts and dump it somewhere.

What would be a reason to switch from FL to Live?
Both are meh to me, but that's my opinion.

I see major advantages to Cubase and Pro Tools mainly. Live was quite easy to get going in, but Logic was even easier :)

Yeah, already seen some of the stuff in my head being made last 2 years lol
really need pc asap
think I'm going for a pc because I don't want a laptop anylonger + I can make it as beast as I want without paying too much

edit; hope you guys achieve your goals! dsf taking over bass :w:

whats your soundcloud mags?

obviously i don't know anything else but AbleMac seems fucking great, very intuitive, and have made something way quicker than i thought already

Live setup integration and user as multitrack recorder/editing setup seems more intuitive in Ableton than FL.
