Shit, I have been using those interchangeably for a bit.

I agree with you completely in the sense that untrue is a very special record I just personally rate the self titled lp higher.

Why does a new release have to be better than the older ones from that artist for someone to enjoy them? I don't get this attitude that people have where something is either THE BEST or it's shit.

Over analysis of burials musical/beatmaking evolution is just plain stupid full stop. The guy obviously only makes tunes when he's in a certain manic, perceptive mood, music is his escape....its how he releases stress and whatever, its his approach on sound, and his feelings are always going to change. He's not trying to make tearout tune of the century or bass that is going to give your misus an orgasm, he's purely in it (or originally was) to release emotion, and as he said himself, make music that girls can relate to/dig but have a dark enough twist that their boyfriends would dig it too. He's obviously at the state where a blank canvas of 15mins is just a picasso on silence, he can/could make whatever he's done in the past, but that would be stale..and chooses to further experiment...he's paramount to a modern day mozart or chopin. If you're over analyzing it, you're not feeling it. Emotive frequency is like bass, you don't hear it, you feel it.

He always rolls with tunes like this anyway, an ongoing tune, Kode 9 cuts the bits he likes best out...they get polished...and released. I agree with whoever said that Burial either pushed to be like fuck it, this is my approach, i want it felt that way when listened...or kode9 was just like fuck it...and released a slab.
Regardless, he's done it. Music will never be the same again. The frequency he's hit is near perfect...like, i can't even explain it its fucked.
Definitely underground game mozart/picasso.

This ep feels like an "expansion pack" to the Kindred ep. Like, 14 new levels, 2 new weapons, 4 new monsters, and that mini-boss at the end of Rough Sleeper.
Judging by his old interviews, Burial is just an average dude, possessed by genius. Now if only he 'd give us a word or two, like he did with Kindred through Mary Anne Hobbs' twitter... ("Burial text me to say his new EP is 'scruffy,1000 per cent from the heart & he hopes it will be a glow in the darkness for kindred spirits')
