Totally experiencing that shit myself in my school, with hand-ins etc. The "deadline" for the huge "extended essay" project was like 3rd of December, but despite very stern words from the teachers about this deadline, practically everyone handed in late january and had no troubles at all.

Same goes for everything. I've worked through the night in full panic-mode to meet some deadline, then arrived at school, barely able to stand, to find out half the class haven't done it anyway and the teacher just shrugs and goes "oh well, please hand it in next week".

You can't take that knowledge to heart too much though, I fear one day it'll fuck you hard.

So you're no longer wearing the pants, then.
Nah, she's got some way to go yet bro. Not a competition though, I'm buzzing for her.

i feel like the ppl that work at colleges in the states think that their job is to stand in your way, and if you can navigate through all of their bullshit, then you are deserving of a degree. like, you're paid to fucking help us. when i was changing my major, all they did was stand in my way and try to find reasons for why i couldn't change it. for example it was during the summer, and they said you must be "in person" in order to change it, even if you live in a different state. wtf. there was no actual reason why, they just wanted you to sign ur fucking name, so i had to drive all the way to college in the summer just to sign my fuckin name, and then drive all the way back. and i wouldn't be able to enroll in any classes for my new major unless i am of that major, so i would have wasted an entire semester if i didn't do it.

or maybe it's just everything that's wrong with publicly funded schools... not sure if it's the same way at private american universities.

One Man's Quixotic Quest to Boost British Cuisine
BIRMINGHAM, England—France has Champagne. Spain has Serrano ham. And in a restaurant on the outskirts of this postindustrial city, Matthew O'Callaghan is tucking into a British dish that he hopes will soon join this constellation of elite brands: a curry called the Birmingham Balti.

made was probably the wrong word. but if you're the type of parent that gives your like 8 year old vinyls of such music you probably put it on in the car the whole time and tbh i'm glad we went with abba in my family

My daughter has her own taste in music. She was really little, we were driving, listening to the radio, and a rock song came on. After a little while she starts yelling at me to "make it bigger". I'm like what, she's like, "Make it BIGGER!" I look back in the rear view mirror, and she is violently head banging, and she wants me to turn it up. She'd never seen headbangers/had no cultural context, the little fucking kid is just a rocker (to my dismay).
