This is why I was initially uninterested af with 'trap', cose of so many "EDM" influences and it's sudden band-wagoning similar to dubstep. As time passed I learned not all music with hi hat rolls and heavy bass is trap and not all trap is disfigured with EDM

Yh this is what they believe lol when the term "trap" was active way back in southern rap in the early 2000s (i think) before it blew up when EDM infected it.

This interview says everything about its parallels with the explosion of dubstep, and tbh it was some pretty fun music before it got too popular. Harlem Shake is now a guilty pleasure tune even tho I didn't mind it back in 2012, and hi hat rollages are pretty cool.
