the idea of uploading radio rips of your own tracks on soundcloud. seems a bit of vain as the point is obviously just to show off that your track has been played on radio. what's the fuss??

i think its also nice to use radio rips as clips, so if people pirate it, its not as big of a deal

^ ya sure ting mate but these radio rips are uploaded by noob producers much like myself who jizz over getting airplay and want the whole world to know about it... big name producers can upload radio clips i get it but unsigned amateurs.. just a show off i say

Blackdown played one of my tunes that wasn't on soundcloud, you better believe I uploaded that shit.
Builds hype and can make people take you more seriously as a producer.
Showing off is kind of the point if you're a "noob" producer trying to get signed...

i sort of have a choice between a place in stoke newington with some dude whose dad is the landlord for 455pcm like across the road from a ton of buses and stoke newington train station... and a place a bus ride from elephant and castle (with one bus) for almost the same price (some weird heating bill issue) but living with my landlord... kind of an easy choice really... but i don't know if i want to live in stoke newington? like it's easy to get the bus pretty much everywhere (mate lives in finsbury park, not far from the overground to camden, shoreditch, london bridge etc)... but i've never lived there before and i sort of wanted to move out of north london. i know people who hang round that area a bit who i don't really want to bump into... but london is a big place (i actually bumped into someone who's been living 3 mins away from me in tottenham yesterday for the first time in 6 months... he's also moving to stokey maybe... mehh). i really want to live somewhere where i am *near* stuff to do and not isolated, but i don't exactly spend all my time hanging around in stoke newington... ergh. also the deposit is a full month's which is ANNOYING. but ultimately it's only 40 quid a month more than where im living now in zone 3 and it's in zone 2. IS THIS THE RIGHT THING TO DO argh.

Do it. Stokey's not bad if you don't mind buses and I wouldn't let bumping into other people put you off an area too much... an old housemate of mine moved two streets away from us and we've not seen him since he left.

Stokey's not quite as tragic-hipster as it was about 4 or 5 years ago... there's a few pretty decent venues around and it's still pretty prime for squats and illegal parties.

Only time i ever been to stoke-newington was to play a gig, when we turned up at the venue it was some sort of lesbian bar... one of the weirder gigs i've played in my time

cheers guys, well i have said i'll take it, just waiting for the dude to call me back. doing more flat/job hunting in the meantime as you can never be sure

squats/social centres are great, i would go for squatting if i thought my mental health could take it. that said, elephant and castle has some really good projects like that that i used to go to.
