maybe i'm just getting jaded, or dumber, but i'm taking an online course atm to finish (finally) my philosophy minor, which I used to really enjoy but now i'm quite sick of. it just seems like a failed, obsolete science to me at this point. neuroscience is miles ahead of them in terms of ethics for example. philosophy as a concept has a lot of potential imo (eg philosophy of science) if they could elevate themselves to the 21st century but they're stuck talking about the same old authors with the same old ideas.

we have to make two discussion posts per day on this website for the class and barely anyone even posts but the people who do seem like they're just writing convoluted try-hard philosophy speak nonsense in all honesty. maybe i've gotten dumb and they're just above my level but i dunno i've scored well in my philosophy classes thus far. (and ofc i can't think of anything to write which is why i'm frustrated)

Had the same experience but ofcourse it's not the subject but just the way it's represented from time to time, both in society and in school.
