It was billed as a miraculous no-strings-attached gift to London, a fairytale forest on a bridge that would be entirely paid for by private sponsors. But this sparkling new “tiara on the head of our fabulous city”, as Joanna Lumley, cheerleader for the garden bridge, has called it, is turning out to be a rather costly crown. In a confidential letter obtained by the Guardian it has emerged that the public will be liable for the bridge’s annual £3.5m maintenance bill in perpetuity – on top of the £60m of public funds already committed to the project.
Considering the austerity climate we're being made to endure, how they manage to justify 60m quid on this shit vanity project I don't know...just madness.
'La la la shut up, exponentially worsening problems! I've got a legacy to consider! Oh and er, if you wouldn't mind footing the maintenance costs shortfall that'd be marvellous. For ever. Yeah, cheers.'

well, both actually :?

fell asleep as 12am and woke up randomly (despite taking 2 you-know-whats) at 4am, did a homework assignment, and now i'd like to get a few more hours of sleep before i have to really be up because four is not enough, but unlikely chance that'll happen... not gonna take another at 6, now almost 7 since i gotta be "up-up" at 10

guess this shoulda gone in that insomnia thread
