good way of putting it. can be quite flat and boxey sounding. still good cans tho. given the choice i'd rather mix on HD25s whoever mentioned those.

I assume you're referring to producing though? Can't be that weak for just listening purposes.. if its just for producing I only dabble so its no biggy and even then wouldn't it just be important during a mixdown? In which case I can use different headphones to check the mids or whatever.
Sorry dude, lost this post, phones were discussed in another thread.

Not trying to give you buyers remorse, but I don't know if 770's would be my choice for listening headphones. They're just not sweet, they're more flat like a (studio) monitor. But maybe they'll give you a more accurate picture of the tunes you're listening to. Trading accuracy for pleasure.

And as an aside, re mixdown... I don't know, I think everyone kind of mixes up now. Like the process of building a track, with infinite sound shapers available, you tend to, or you can, or many do make very nuanced sonic decisions throughout the writing process, so a mixdown phase might not be as prevalent or distinct in this new way. Not that it doesn't still happen, but accuracy and detail are probably more important throughout the process now.

And as you're working/mixing, you'll probably be checking on a variety of monitoring types. I think 770's are excellent to produce on. There may be better, I don't have any personal experience with better, but 770's will serve you well.

But still, take breaks. They do a good job of bass, very physical, so careful. They are flatter in the highs which I prefer (for production) helps me push the highs which are very easy to leave too dull.

Tombstone level quality.

If agent bites it, fuck the smart phone fund, we're going to have to chip in for a real quality headstone. A little monument. Someplace we could engrave that post. Don't know how to do the animated gif in marble though.
