I was at the Leisure Lounge in 96/97 and countless Blue Note sessions after and this was the same feeling

I love the idea that DJs can play what they like as long as it's got the right feel unlike most nights that only book DJs that are going to play the same beats all night. The whole attitude is positive and inclusive and true to the spirit of acid house / rave which is where all this started when I was a kid. The crowd are the same - they're all totally in love with music, not themselves or drugs or clothes or whatever. Dubstep is the best music scene this country's had for a
very long time. We're lucky to have it.

exactamundo! and don't feel blushed for being old, I been living up there for 7 yrs before I came back to athens this decade. I now just turned 33 and I celebrated with a night of our own with ppl like Silkie/Quest/Pokes and I have brought Loefah & Mala with my friends also in Gr.
all this because of my first DMZ night back in July 07'.
I walked in and I was.... shit man that's like 92 all over again... respect
never looked back
I feel proud for these peeps up there
and they ain't gonna stop
and for anybody else who hasn't been there shut your mouths until you experience a DMZ night. there are so many nerds talkin senseless about this that and the other. f-that go check and experience fo youself and THEN say what you gotta say
haven't been to a DMZ night since last May but it more than looks like we're coming up in either the next one or in July>>

Easy man, think I chatted to you in the queue, glad you had a good night.
Highlights:
Oneman: 24Hour Experience 'Together' + 'Stone Cold'. BOHHHH.
Loefah: Mud. Total filth.
Coki: First two tunes after Mala's intro. Thought I was going to explode.
Gothtrad + Distance: Taking sub to the next level.
Getting tingles just thinking about it. Anyone saying Oneman needs to play less garage needs to fix up as well!

Ha! all the oldies are piping up
I'm 35 and I started raving in the early 90's
one of my first raves was watching Grooverider in 91 playing techno/hardcore/house all in the mix
The thing I like about this music - esp at DMZ, is all the different flavours running through the night, like when Grooverider used to drop something at Headz, people WANTED and EXPECTED something new, they didnt want classics, they wanted the WTF!?? reaction
I hope they keep pushing the sound and it doesnt splinter into different scenes/clubs - that is what hurt DnB

Actually sick night, Distance and Goth-Trad were too good, i can't believe all the people on here saying they left at like half 3 because it was too crowded, what the fuck is up with that, you missed Distance b2b Goth-Trad and Cluekid b2b L.D because it was too crowded, i would still be there now if i could be, big up everyone involved, and all the Belgian and Swedish people i met, props for making that journey. If Dot soundz reads this i tryed to find you on the internet but couldnt so message me if you do. BIGGGG

Haha. Yeah I loved Oneman. That was the point that convinced me how righteous the crowd was. Great music is great music whatever you call it.
Loefah and Mystikz owned it though. EVERY TUNE!

I have never expected much from what I have given my entire life too.
4 years have past just like that! I still remember our first night at 3rd Base. Saturday 5th March 2005. We laughed nervously setting up. I remember thinking.... even if 10 people come, it's a blessing. 200 or so turned up. Each Dance continued to bring more people. I couldn't believe it then and I still cant believe it now.
So much energy and time goes into making things happen. Its not about the individual.. but us all, a collective consciousness, all producers, all dj's, all mc's.
To many people are quick to forget that it's about You music heads that spend your energy, time and hard earned money to support these visions, dreams and creations. For me its not just about hosting a dance, this is my Life and I am pleased I have an opportunity to share it with you.
DMZ unity of people through sound.
Saturday night was overwhelming for me. Everyone, international travellers, people who brought me gifts.
Thank you is enough.
My words cannot really begin to express...
Peace and Respect.

Just looking back to the weekend, I just want to experience it all again.
All my friends had the greatest time on Saturday and alot of them are relatively new to dubstep.
Just from getting to chat to Pokes and Coki at Croydub on the Sunday it's the first time I have encountered such a unique and devoted attitude towards the music someone is submerged in.
I think its the friendliness and passion between the crowd at events like DMZ that make it such an enjoyable musical genre to experience. I hope those aspects of it never die out.

can't echo that enough! too many event promoters these days miss the point, and don't understand that the gathering of people is the most important part of everything.
the minute you take people for granted you've lost the reason why its a gift to present music to people. this is why dmz parties are so important. its about 1000 people coming to the same place for one night, to hopefully agree on something, and that's the love of the sound.
we live in a fractured and divided world, and gatherings are only positive forces.
