Our fans are stupidly fickle and it's getting worse every week. European football is suddenly not good for us, we have this divine right to finish in the top 4, even after losing a world-class player that virtually carried us for 50% of our games.
We've spent money, it's not good enough, we're bringing players through the youth system, it's not good enough

Give Sherwood a chance, should never of got rid of AVB in the first place but we are where we are.

^^ and you're still most likely going to finish ahead of Man Utd. Ridiculous season for the entire division this year tbh.

In the 80s there was 1 team and in the 90 and 00s 1 ½, so at least in that respect it's becomming a bit more of a genuine competition now.

FA asking for FIFA to impose a worldwide ban on Anelka, let's see if FIFA have any sort of conviction then.

reflects a widespread attitude in football tbh. i've had a similar rant about arsenal fans too.

The ironic thing is that it is straight up racism that they chose to go for him.

I mean if they were serious they would go after people in higher positions like di Canio or other indivduals like for example the serbian attacker Pantelic who has scored for the national team a couple of times and pulled out an Israeli flag, or someone like Abbiati that have admitted to being actual fascists and have been caught in similar situations. France is understandably a little touchy when it comes to the muslim/jew situation with the recent school shooting and a large former 'arab' population and whatnot tbf, but the popular agenda in the world is to paint muslims as terrorists, so that's easier. (fifa is largely french).
The salute is however used by two groups in France - one being culture political 'against jews' and the other by disenfranchised youths as a greeting of anti establishment. Like a 'hood sign'.
The comedian Anelka is apparently associated with, has been painted as being anti west or whatever - so I bet that's where their bum itch resides, but he's more popular amongst the second group. The point is Anelka should get the chance to jbe looked at as just ignorant, especially compared with others that have been straight up political in their 'salutes' imo.

Anti-zionism is not the same as anti-semitism.

tbh Anelka has always struck me as an anti establishment figure, if che had been born with his footballing talents i'm sure he would have gone from one capitalist superclub to another and earning millions, before going off to China for a bit and earning a few millions more for next to nothing, vive le revolution

i don't agree with anyone being banned from something or arrested for any form of political expression- but the guy is a moron.

definitely a moron

I mean ofcourse it's hypocritical to try to be all anti establisment when you're in his position, but he is just trying to 'hang' or be controversial imo.
