So whats peoples' approaches toward beats these days, we still a sample-heavy crew or are synths becoming the go-to?
Personally cant get enough of the old sample-and-flip, but i must admit, this could be partly because my synth game is a bit weak

I need the :
'something that could have been a field recording thrown into a sampler'
option
and then flipping that synth bit on sample level

Theoretically I'm still sample and synth heavy, but I lost my entire sample collection, and my turntables are not setup... so pretty synth heavy.
Best of times though, I'm 50/50.

You're getting the bug.
It is all academic, until you start to play these things, and then you're like, how'd we get switched to the simulacra? FUCK THAT!
Beautiful synth, dude.

I played the mks 80 today too. I need someone to justify me not needing a proper synth

You can make any sound with software, analog people are just interested in elitism and succumb to confirmation bias, and when you get analog gear, you stop making music, and just doodle all the time.

Sounded so good so easily tho. But yea with tweaking I can get an almost identical sound if I tried ( not sure about the sexy bottom end tho)

I've always used an equal mix on samples and synths. I love analog bass and pads plus dusty samples.

Such a solid sounding bass but yet it doesn't sound like it would take over in the mix. Fuck I know where all my money is going at some point
