Joe can you please link me to where you saw that David Ike is a racist?

He may be a lot of things but this is new to me.

No I said he *supports* racism. He completely denies that he is a racist, but he gives credence to the Protocols Of The Elders Of Zion - a key text for Fascists through history, but a total forgery - and flirts with holocaust denial, plus he doesn't work particularly hard to dissociate himself from his extreme right-wing following in the USA (unsurprisingly as they presumably provide a sizable proportion of his income by buying his books and tickets to his engagements).

I don't think he is a racist, I think he's a man who had a breakdown and genuinely believes that lizards are running the world. But he has proved very useful to a lot of psychos who want to pray on people who just want to believe in something... anything!

This was written in 2000, I'm sure the argument has been raging ever since :( http://www.publiceye.org/Icke/IckeBackgrounder.htm

I think anyone who finds themselves tempted to believe someone like Icke should read, with some urgency, the following - roughly in this order.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Illuminatus!_Trilogy (shit I can't work out how to use url tags on this board... cut and paste this one)

Tbh, if he gives credence to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, then he's more of a mug than I thought he was. It's widely known and accepted outside white-supremacist circles that it is a propagandist's forgery.

And before the "no, icke's bang-on" crew try and lynch me, I do enjoy a bit of conspiracy-based reading, but the guy is a nut.

The fact though, that Icke mixes the majority of batshit insane nonsense with grains of truth makes me even more suspicious of him, as he essentially serves as a trump card for those who would like you to believe that there are no clandestine dealings by governments and the super-rich, and that policy is always set in cabinet rooms and party conferences, instead of aboard oligarch's yachts, fancy hotels (Bilderberg), and the various 'holiday' properties of the De Rothschild family (see Mandelson in Corfu, for a recent nod). The essence of disinformation is to mix truth with obvious lies in order to discredit the whole. He's more than fit for purpose in that respect.

Having someone who is easily discredited and clearly off his rocker as a conspiracy pin-up really only serves those who wish to tighten their grip on the accumulated power they and their associates possess. Same applies to that loudmouth christian fundamentalist Alex Jones.

Or that's how I see it anyway.

However, I would concede that there are myriad more important things to discuss and resolve than fighting an information battle against invisible or perceived enemies.

Thankyou Mr Buckfaster, you have NAILED exactly why these moonbats are dangerous.

On a side note, I do sigh a bit when people bandy about the term 'anti-Semite' as a catch-all label. The amount of times I've seen this applied to blatantly anti-racist leftists who question Israel's ethnic cleansing and apartheid policies is ridiculous.

But I guess the blame can be shared between militant (and racist) Zionists and those who continually repeat the silly "jews run everything" conspiracy bollocks.

Are you trying to be ironic?

How in anyway do Teen Cribs or the wastemorons on Big Brother reflect the actual life we lead.

Blind consumption of Mass Media is just as bad as believing every conspiracy theory you read.

Joe - You do realise that the Illuminatus trilogy was a fictional works that started to manifest itself in the lives of the authors right? Check out Cosmic Trigger volumes 1-3 by Robert Anton Wilson (one of the authors of the illuminatus trilogy).

Tupac and MJ? An order controlling the world concerns themselves with Tupac and MJ? Pull the other one mate.

I used to think religion was pointless, but if a lack of religion leads to a load of impressionistic young teens believing in any old crap then I'm all for us going back to the Crusades.
