What is everyone going on about, the chef mix is nice, bit surprised by the effects but it works well in some places. Love what chef does with the tell me (ld remix) and quest the unknown

Rama's mix is amazing and Chef's mix is big too. Out to both of them.

The LD and Silkie bits were the highlight of Chef's mix for me.

Listening to da Chef Mix right now. Have to say Ive heard better mixes. I think he included too much tunez and often he isnt really mixin them, just fadin in & out. Sadly Im missing a flow when listening to it. Sounds like puttin some tunez together without thinkin before.

I liked Chef's mix, good to show off the fact that he is using vinyl and a mixer, doesnt happen enough these days so big up.

Loving both mixes.

Still doesnt beat Appleblim though IMO

Exactly this mate. Feels like he didn't really plan the mix.

Still big ups to Chef, big selection and a big DJ.

Got it today, I'm disappointed. Track selection is fine and the mixes don't bother me, it's just tooooo loud. Barely starting to distort on my speakers there's so much compression.

Is it just me who preffered chef's CD?
I love the tracks on there. Namely stages, and Spotted takes me right back to the PS1 days.

I was really excited about hearing the Chef mix as the tracklisting looked immense, but I just can't get over the jagged mixing, the cheap use of basic mixer effects, the complete lack of flow etc. It seems like it's been produced (without much preparation) like a live DJ set and to be fair, the Dubstep Allstars series deserved more.

However, the Ramadanman mix is simply sublime from start to finish. Every tune and every mix. Haven't stopped listening to it for months, and is definitely my mix of the year so far. It was unfortunate for Chef to be paired with this as it's just immense.

If you don't like the mix fair enough, but to say it's got a complete lack of flow is bollocks and I can't accept that. I didn't plan every mix because I never do in my sets otherwise they wouldn't be unique but I knew the way I wanted it to flow and sound for weeks and weeks and in my head. It was a challenge because there was alot of artists and tunes that I wanted to represent and only 74 minutes, so instead of just playing a few safe bangers I set up the mini buffet and manged to squeeze in 36 tunes which is actually double the amount of tracks compared to other mixes and more times the flavour to me. It starts of dubby to take it back to the dub in dubstep, goes to more lady friendly tracks, (you gotta cater for the girls, if the're dancing then the guys are gonna too) then it goes a bit deeper and builds up to the more hype tunes and ends up going 2steppy/junglely to show where it's going this year and how it's come full cycle over the last decade. I certainly agree that it sounds like a live DJ set and that was the complete aim so you can put the cd on in your living room or car, wack up the the volume and get the same vibe and ENERGY that you would get in a typical live chef set from FWD or DMZ and not just another mix doane in Ableton like so many DJ's par of as ''Studio mixes''...

Big up everyone who's supported this cd and and has ever treked and paid to see me live, it's really appreciated to the max and I always try my best !!
