The Mirror has picked up on leaked footage of the player walking around an airport terminal shooting civilians, describing it as: "It appears you have no one to shoot at other than unarmed people walking around the terminal. If the clip is indeed on the money, it's a huge move for the games developers Infinity Ward and crosses a line which will doubtless invoke the ire of the media and anti-games commentators. Making light of terrorist atrocities such as the Mumbai attacks takes gaming to new lows which will doubtless cause many to eschew Modern Warfare 2 completely."

Activision responded to the leak with the following statement: The leaked footage was taken from a copy of game that was obtained illegally and is not representative of the overall gameplay experience in Modern Warfare 2.

Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 features a deep and gripping storyline in which players face off against a terrorist threat dedicated to bringing the world to the brink of collapse. The game includes a plot involving a mission carried out by a Russian villain who wants to trigger a global war. In order to defeat him, the player infiltrates his inner circle. The scene is designed to evoke the atrocities of terrorism.

At the beginning of the game, players encounter a mandatory "checkpoint" in which they are warned that an upcoming segment may contain disturbing elements and they can choose not to engage in the gameplay that involves this scene. Consistent with its content, the game has been given an "M" for Mature by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board. The rating is prominently displayed on the front and back of the packaging, as well as in all advertising.

Tabloids and videogames have never made for good bedfellows, seeing as the latter represents an easy target for the former. Given The Mirror has jumped the gun and attacked Modern Warfare 2 before it was released, we can only guess at the level of mayhem in the tabloids when the full game itself comes out.

Not this type of shit again, who remember's the whole manhunt feasco.

lol I remember that. decent game...all the hype definitely helped it.


there was that other game that was fucked up....where you're on death row and demons take over the prison. no controversy there but it was a sick game.

my one ive been on has become scratched and wont read...it was a second hand copy

i guess i could buy a new one and install the game and see if it then works from the scratched disc...i could then take it back as a faulty maybe?

apparently installed games work fine from discs that are a bit scratched

Download it and just use your existing CD key thingy.

I bought GTA VI today. I think I need to upgrade my video card. Again.

That does look sick i might get that, the only problem with it is the combat it dosent look great but the rest does, plus it's Bioware they never screw up. Cant wait for Mass effect 2 aswel!

Yeah bioware games have never really being brilliant for combat (bar mass effect, which was fairly decent). But they sure know how to write amazing stories and make it an interactive as fuck experience.
