He couldn't play without humming along, and if you listen closely on some of his recording you can hear him.

massive 2nd on Michael Nyman. Was introduced by my mum and taken to see him in 96 then went again a few years ago up here. More recently was more of his operatic works but I'm not really into vocally stuff. So much of his work has such depth and emotion.... I'm an emo boy at heart.

Loving this thread havent made it past the first page yet though due to the length of each piece so apologies if theres any reposts:
heres a few favourites from recently:
^my favourite section from Anatoly Liadov 8 Russian Folksongs for Orchestra.
Ravel: Gaspard de la nuit
Vivaldi -The four seasons - winter 2 - recomposed by max richter
The Japanese national anthem is really nice, the string sections would be pretty good to sample because they're so cleanly played along the melody (proper short though)
