So after being initially completely dismissive of it and knowing my housemate would try and talk me round, we ended up having a great discussion about it last night.

I still don't reckon it's a "game changer", which is how Apple try to make their products seem, but if they can get people moving on the Apps front it could be massive. We were throwing around some ideas last night - he designs mobile and web apps for a living - and got rather excited.

Basically, Jobs did an utterly shit presentation. Web browsing will definitely not be what makes this thing cool.

I still reckon it'll be blown out of the water in a couple of years once we can make a device that size/weight which contains a proper computer.

The Huffington Post is actually really good.

i know many graphics/design/fashion/film/photography people that cannot wait to buy this thing for the only reason that they can have their whole body of work in one machine, that can go anywhere with them. no more carrying portfolios around. its a 720p screen.

Not sure how that's possible seeing as full 720p resolution is bigger than the screen resolution.

I think that means it has the ability to play a file that large without stuttering, but obviously it will have to either be cropped or letterboxed, like the iphone does.

i've got something interesting to say:

on my exam economics (christmas 2009) we got a text about apple and comercials. We had to make a SWOT-analyse of it but that doesn't matter. The article said that apple, has never, ever, given out 1 cent on commericals. They have this way of hyping their products causing every single techmotherfucker on the internet to write a fucking page, blog, or post a fucking review or unboxing video on youtube. Can you believe that? I couldn't. But try this: find a fucking tv-commercial for any apple product. And it has to be from apple itself. (because in Belgium we have an iphone commercial but it's financed by fucking mobistar fail, facefalm,) NO really try it. I've been googling for about 15 minutes and i couldn't find a thing but the little pc vs. mac vid's on apples website (-> which means, no expensive costs) Jobs is a fcking sleek bastard.
