If you don't think Steve Vai is experimental then you simply don't have a clue what you are talking about, as he is FAR more experimental than anyone on your list. He just happens also to be the most technically adept.

Also I wish this was just the "good guitarists" thread rather than top 10 because it just gets bogged down with people considering shitloads of different aspects of what can be considered a good musician and arguing over technical skill where as I'd rather be just thinking about who sounds good or plays well independent of what should be valued highest.
