Person A: "What stuff are you into?"
Person B: "Liquid dubstep, mate"
Person A: "..."
I reckon we should all go back to the time before dubstep was even called 'dubstep'.

"Wack Cheesy Beat" is the best one I've come up with so far. Now I just need to find some music to stick it to.

An essay on Liquid Dubstep
The subject of Liquid Dubstep is a controversial issue. At one stage or another, every man woman or child will be faced with the issue of Liquid Dubstep. While it is becoming a hot topic for debate, it is important to remember that "what goes up must come down". The juxtapositioning of Liquid Dubstep with fundamental economic, social and political strategic conflict draws criticism from the upper echelons of progressive service sector organisations, who form the last great hope for our civilzation. Keeping all of this in mind, in this essay I will examine the major issues.
Social Factors
As Reflected in classical mythology society is complicated. When J H Darcy said 'fevour will spread' [1] she borrowed much from Liquid Dubstep. A child's approach to this so-called 'new sound' raises the question 'why?'
Of paramount importance to any study of Liquid Dubstep within its context, is understanding the ideals of society. It has been said that the one thing in society which could survive a nuclear attack is Liquid Dubstep. This is incorrect, actually cockroaches are the only thing which can survive a nuclear attack.
Economic Factors
Increasingly economic growth and innovation are being attributed to Liquid Dubstep. We will primarily be focusing on the Greek-Roman model, making allowances for recent changes in interest rates.
Annual Sound System Budget
..............................................Liquid Dubstep
The results displayed in the graph are too clear to be ignored. Seemingly the annual sound system budget is in financial terms 'holding hands with Liquid Dubstep.' Supply Side Economic Tax Cuts Tax deductions could turn out to be a risky tactic.
Political Factors
Much of the writings of historians display the conquests of the most powerful nations over less powerful ones. Politicians find it difficult to choose between what has become known in politics as - 'The two ways' - 0
One quote comes instantly to mind when examining this topic. I mean of course the words of jazz singer Aaron Woodpecker 'Political idealists must ideally deal, for I daily list my ideals politically.' [2] This clearly illustrates the primary concern of those involved with Liquid Dubstep. It is a well known 'secret' that what prompted many politicians to first strive for power was Liquid Dubstep.
I wait anxiously. What will the next few years bring for this new invention?
Conclusion
To conclude, Liquid Dubstep deserves all of the attention it gets. It replenishes the self, provides financial security and is a joy to behold.
I will leave the last word to the famous Ozzy Morissette: 'Oooh yeah Liquid Dubstep shoo badaby dooo.' [3]

it's all dubstep in my eye's.
Some of ramadanman's stuff is deep (we are, Dynamic Balance vip) but i just class it as dubstep, if im talkin about those tunes to someone i'd say "them are deep" but wouldnt say deep dubstep or IDM dubstep coz thats just gay.
There's a TRG tune called mercury dub that is well on the old school side of liquid, but still i call it dubstep but i'll say "sounds a bit drifty" or "techy" if talkin about distance or wobbly for someone else....tis just dubstep for me
Fuk pigion hole's

....that look's so wrong when u type it...................

................................................................................. it but i stand by it

leave it to some journalist to try to lable some new breed of dubstep they have stumbled across that is and isnt like dubstep but is...IDMSTEP
drum n bass to me is drum n bass, jungle = jungle, house=house be it funky or deep or what ever the fuk
and Dubstep is most deffo just that to me.

QUEST wrote:u people are reading too deeply into things its all dubstep i didn't say it was anything else liquid is just a word to describe that side of things its not something ive come up with off the top of my head people in the industry have used that word, and why can't i use the word intelligent, i can make a grime tune in 2 minutes and i ain't lying but dubstep is different more thought is put into into therefore it is more intelligent, people have to stop being scared of change, things will go where they are gonna go anyway so who can stop it? if its meant to be its meant to be
not neccesarily ..some artist execute work fast to a standard that can take other artists months to reach levels no way near.
grime producers beats are no less 'intelligent' than any dubstep tune, simply a different style .

i'd get bored at a night purely of mellow deep stuff
i'd get bored at a night purely of WOBWOBWOB LFO bangers
VARIETY!
most producers make more than 1 style anyway!
like kromestar for example - makes stuff like kalawanji on the one hand, and stuff like corrupshun dub and the floetry refix on the other

Ok, so you've asked for my opinion on 'liquid dub' and i'm-a give it ya.
Without discussing any actual music its hard to be specific but broadly speaking i think its safe to say... i'm totally fucking against it.
First off i will never use the words 'liquid dub'. If anyone catches me using said words please slap me, (no shanking), i will have badly lost my way.
Now, your post could be taken as a call for fresh ideas and a more diverse sound... i didn't. If you want to take a new direction why are dredging up that old liquid nonsense? If you want more diversity in the dance, don't promote compartmentalising the scene (it has the opposite effect - fact - trust blackdown on this one) and while you're at it, stop even thinking like that, for your own sake as much as everyone elses.
You want more 'upfull' vibes in the dance, great. Melodic? Cool, but don't be cheesy! Soulful? Nice, don't be fucking wak tho! Colourful? Ok, but stop being gay! Bruv, get in touch with your femine side or whatever the fuck, its all good... and you know what? I'd be with you 100%, if it wasn't for one thing:
Liquid.
Somehow i just know your idea of a good melody is Fasten Your Seatbelt by Pendulum. And mellow, for you, is any record with the pitch control at zero. Etc. etc. etc. Come on, you just want to make liquid dnb at a dubstep tempo, admit it!! For a crowd of pillheads by the sound of it.
What do i think about you pushing things in that direction? Don't. Just don't.

Got to choose me words carefully now but as far as that side of dubstep goes im all for it being explored but then maybe what attracted me to this sound in the first place was that it has such a variety of influences in it so that makes for no dull moments in my opinion, that and the bass anyways

on both this forum and dubplate.net, the genre issue was battered to pieces from 2003-2005. who is dubstep?, who isn't dubstep? there were people pushing several agenda's. some separitist. some conformist. some positive, some ridiculous, and some very negative. i'd say there's a considerable percentage of people on the forum that are tired of the whole name issue, and just want to get on with the music. if it ain't broken, don't fix it.
