Well than I guess Im to blame and didnt even realize it. Im not gonna sit here and disect your posts. We all know that you were basically sayin reason is trash over and over. I was jus tryin to defend it. Give it a voice if you will. And I stated that the comment was not directed toward your mate. Id like to see you chat with claw bout how bad reasons audio is. You can check my sc at
www.soundcloud.com/bad-lux if you like. Everyting was done wit reason. And I only have bout 6 months experience. And Im jus gettin into dubstep. My ears have been listenin to dnb since 1999. So im findin it hard to create dubstep cus naturally I want to produce dnb. This is where im told I should stick wit producing dnb and what not. So in the end I was the instigator. Like I said before we all need to just relax and worry bout the music. So once again I say peace

Some good ideas here man. Bass in "The Stalker" sounds dark as fuck. Needs the drums to be a little bit less cluttered (pace, space, bass) but not bad for a first go!
Sounds very "Reason-y" though
(jokes)

Just as a point of reference, all my tunes on my Myspace player were made in Reason, including those in the d'n'b minimix (although I sequenced the mix in Reaper cuz it's easier). I doubt you can say I have a 'Reason' sound, as every tune sounds completely different to the last.
Reason and FL both have great sounds, but neither have the fastest workflow when compared to a customised Reaper.
Reasons mix engine was updated in version 4. Using sine waves for comparisons isn't a good test, the methods used to generate the sine varies with each synth in existence. The way to test the mix engines would be to load a sample into FL and Reason and to bounce the sample for the comparison.

@bad lux - checking chemical burn (on headphones)...
starting atmos feels it could be a bit more present/wider, maybe fiddle about with chorus or delay
mid range feels a bit too seperated from your sub, not really feeling the actual sound, feels like it needs more crunch, and again maybe some more width.
drums could be bigger and cut through a lot better, try some kind of subtle distortion/saturation (scream set to tape should help if i remember correctly), and maybe even (god forbid) sidechain your kick/snare to your mids a touch. id personally be tempted to stick a big reverb on the snare, but thats very much my own preference.
overall could to with a bit more presence/treble.
not really to my taste, but keep at it dude.

Well, more like layering up samples and rendering them out.
I think I recall a blind comparison done by... Jackie boy, or shit, is that his old name, or his new name... of a mix rendered out of reason, and the same mix rewired into protools and rendered. I really do think the protools mix sounded better. I don't know if the test was legit, but I don't think he had any agenda, he writes in reason and mixes in protools.

It would be interesting to do what you say, + post the waveforms for people to compare themselves. IT would also be good to post screenshots of the waveforms enlarged side by side, so we could see any differences etc.

NOTE: if you export from reason, there are a ton of settings you can adjust to make the sound quality better. It's not worth it to use these kind of sttings while working because it kills your cpu. But if you just use it for exporting > that's fine.

The software is only as good as you make it.
try them out both, depending on your style you might find fl to suit you more over reason or reason to suit you more over fl.
I use reason.
Most people prefer FL but reasons is just capable of SOOOO much more and anyone who uses reasons can tell you that.
its just much more c omplex to get the hang of.
go for the demos to to see for yourself!!

How you made I larf!
FL can record audio.
FL can
edit audio.
FL can slice audio either directly or with SliceX
FL can generate audio from an image using Beepmap
FL can load DX and VST plugins
FL can act as either Rewire host
or slave
FL be run as a VSTi in other programs
FL can load different skins/themes
But.....
Reason has visual routing with the drag and drop device cables. (Essentially Reasons killer feature)
Reason has the Combinator device that FL doesn't, (although can't you do something similar in FL with the formula controller?)
FL cains Reason for features all day long.

Fl has the peak controller which allows you to control any controllable feature of anything, the applicatoin itself, or vst's run within it. That so totally kicks reason's punny little wires in the teeth. Reason may give you a few inputs for control... and that is modular? Get wise.
