A) Check out the comments.
B) Ah, the Kiwi accent... what's that he says he didn't have at the :43 second mark? Someone needs to sample him talking.
yeah come the to the uk, it'll be like flight of the concordes... BUT NOT FUNNY!
just dont know what to think after watching that video.
i kind of feel bad because he's clearly just a naive twat who just fucked about with some samples and accidentally became a huge internet phenomenon. i think i hate the fans now more than him.

Totally. You know, as far as tunes go there's definitely worse out there than Sierra Leone. Obviously posting up his earlier "remix" larks (imagine the shit some of you made like that when you were starting out) wasn't the best idea, and I'm sure his new corporate lawyers weren't crazy about it either. Hopefully he's got a stable personality and a sense of humor and can laugh at all the bogus remixes attributed to him... because they really are funny as fuck and actually insightful about the excesses of noob productions. The Loefah one - I can't even listen to all of it at work because I'm in tears with laughter, and yet how many people outside this so-called 'scene' would find that shit funny? In a weird way, maybe all this robblerobblerobble is good.
And as for dude's future; if he's smart he'll play it cool, take all the money the nice suits from Universal hand him and buy a modest home with a studio, spend the next few years as a hermit honing his production skills, and ultimately capitalize on the publicity. Name recognition and controversy is never bad for record sales. Worst case scenario is he actually listens to either his current fans or us and reacts to or internalizes it - that and trying to become a jetsetting superstar DJ/Producer too soon, aka "Giant Sunglasses Syndrome."
Either way, I'll bet Skream is glad he came along to take some of the heat off from the dubstep critics' chorus.

So true. It really is hard to predict where this guy will head. Like it or not, he somehow has a ridiculous amount of star power. Sure, not in the legitimate dubstep community, but say in a years time if Universal is still behind him and he wants to go on a 50 stop tour of the US, he could pull it off. Hopefully if and when he breaks into whatever Universal obviously has planned for him he will have decent production skills and not completely embarrass the genre. Universal doesnt talk to anyone unless they have a real business plan centered around them. They are calculated businessmen and whatever this unholy union brings, it should be interesting to see what happens to Eden and dubstep as a whole.

Okay so today I sat down to really give his tunes a chance. It really is as shitty as you guys say.... I'm not trolling btw, just listen to the song.... The bassline is clipping, sounds fucked up and out of place. There is no hihat with any vibe to it. The snare is 8 times as loud as the rest of the track.
Fucking shit I'm listening while I'm typing this and it really fucking sucks. The bassline makes me feel sick, not because ITZ SO FILTHY but it's SO SHITTY.

It's so poorly made.
I produce a bit and I swear I can do better.
I just don't even show it to anyone because I don't think it's good enough yet.

Again though people - most of the world doesn't listen to production or care about super-clean tracks - the fact that they chose MP3's over hi-fidelity is proof of that. And it's really the conspicuously amateurish production that's ticking off the DSF world, which seems a little myopic. From my perspective, and trying to be as objective as possible about it, if he were someone else that didn't have a shitstorm of controversy following him already - and if the tune was produced and mixed down a little better - I don't know if there'd be as many haters.
My biggest beef with it is concern that he's using someone else's hook (via that vocal) - which I'm not sure about, but it sounds like it's a whole sampled phrase or two - and yes, the level of those snares in the mix, which suggests poor monitoring when it was made (headphone mix maybe?) - but then, Scorn's snares are often ungodly hot and yet... it works when he does it.
Where did that vocal sample come from anyway?

No excuse. My shit's headphone mastered and it's not loud and shitty.
